WHM Help!!

Hello Everyone


It's been awhile since I was a WHM. My WHM currently Lv 32 I have been lvling SMN also lv 32 now(YAY)
I decided to give WHM a try again so went to Jeuno for a party and when I was in the party I found myself running out of MP before the fight was over and not been able to keep up with the cures. I never had this problem before as a WHM. I was the only WHM in the pt and there was abit of downtime because of MP. Was wondering if someone could give me advice on how to help this go smoother?

what were you doing exactly and what was the party make-up?

I started by casting Protectra II, The healed when they needed it not when just abit was missing and I cast 1 Dia per mob and that was about it unless they needed Erase. Also a Bar Spell sometimes not alot apart from that it was removeing poison.

in that setup, you should be hardly using any mp, unless the PLD never cured himself and the NIN never used utusemi.

Paladin didn't cure herself she made the mages do it

No u are doing great, in fact I would have done this: Not healed the PLD and if he/she starts yelling at me then I sould have said something like you have curing abilities USE THEM!!! Then when u dont have enuff MP's then and only then will I heal you. If they did not like it then have them leave the group or you leave to find a smarter group.

Be sure to try to get some ticks of rest in during the fight after you cap off the tank. This is the best way to cut downtime from your mp usage. If you can coordinate with the pld to heal himself a little while you are resting it becomes even more effective.

I remember that happened in a party i was in, i eventully went on a cure strike and it forced the PLD to cure himself or he would of died eventully he got it and started to help

Regen whore, depending on PLD's MP /heal on before fight is over. MP regening foods are your friends, especially chocolates. Too bad I stopped playing mage before the new food patch or I could be more specific... try chocolates =D

In the future if you aren't sure what to do, I can suggested:
1. Kicking PLD and make Nin tank as soon as another LFP mage comes up
2. /tell other party leaders your level if they need a whm, and switch to that party when you find out they are in your area
3. Main heal with your summoner...you'll at least have Auto-Refresh (^^)V

One strategy I've always wanted to try was Flashing the monster (I would think MP from Flash would be less than MP used spent curing, along with hate being less than cureing hundreds of HP or so) but everytime I flashed, the PLD would not be able to keep hate. =/

regen is a good idea, and I guess when not doing heals you can rest some to keep MP at a decent level

My MP is around 450 on WHM and 509 on SMN(Astrals and alot of Mp boosting kit hehe)
