Hmm, well, this is in the wrong section, but I'll reply anyways.

1) It depends, really. But most 'big' Hyper Notorious Monster LS' are lv70+, and there are usually more then 40-50 members. Note that HNM LS' take on extreme mobs that are at a much higher lv, etc, so it requires many people and well... a high lv.

2) No, not like BCNM. Well, Kirin takes Byakko's/Suzaku's/Genbu's/Seiryu's Seal but that's still not Beastmen's/Kindred's Seals. Usually, HNMs are a 21-24 hour spawn, at high level zones or places hard to get to (Simurgh is at Rolanberry Fields, but at a cliff, and the only way to get there is by getting through the end of Crawler's Nest.), etc. Some take a short amount of time to kill, but some of the hardest ones can take upto a few hours. Vrtra, Tiamat, those are extremely hard and long battles.

3) Most of them, no. However, as I stated above, Kirin requires four special seals.

4) What items do you obtain? Tons of goodies! Crafting items that are rare (Shining Cloth, Veno Claw... stuff needed for very good crafted equipment, such as Scorpion Harness, Haubeurgeon, Noble's Tunic, etc.), and kick equipments and weapons. Some I will mention are Ridill, Balmung, Defending Ring, etc. You can visit some info sites and check the stats yourself.

5) Well, considering that most HNMs are 21-24 hour spawns, you won't be killing the same HNM every 5 hours. Even then, there are many other HNM LS' that you compete with. However, you can visit other HNM locations. For example; you were camping Lumberjack but lost it to another HNM LS. Then you move over to Serket or whatever, etc.

6) Not really... HNM LS' are a community-friends type thing, not something you use to gain stuff for yourself. However, as you participate, your linkshell will sometimes probably get drops that will support you. (Example: Kirin drops Shining Cloth, it goes towards you for your Noble's Tunic!)
