Is the Apollo staff, and the Pluto's staff worth it?

I'm getting to the level where I'm going to be able to buy the Dark Staff and Light Staff. I was wondering if the HQ versions are worth the extra gil for a WHM. I've read about how they're VERY beneficial to a Summoner and Beastmaster. So, anyone have any experiences with the HQ staves? Are they worth the extrak 500kish I'll have to spend? Any reply would help. Thanks.

How do hte HQs benefit WHM?

Light to Apollo's
5% more damage and 5% fewer resists with Banish...
Cheaper Carbuncle if subbing SMN...

Dark to Pluto's
5% more MP recovered with Elemental Seal+Aspir every 10 minutes if subbing BLM...
Cheaper Fenrir if subbing Smn...

Doesn't seem too worthwhile to me. :\

I don't see too much reason to buy HQ Dark Staff since you're using it for the MP heal only, and that doesn't increase when using the HQ version. Since you're only using the Dark Staff when sitting you don't benefit from the extra stats, and the elemental staves are very average weapons as far as their usefulness in combat so the extra damage and lower delay doesn't make much of a difference. The only reason I can think of for getting HQ Dark Staff (from a WHM perspective) is for show.

HQ Light Staff is almost the same arguement but you'll be using it when you're standing and healing, so I guess you can benefit from the +2 all more than +1 all. But does an extra +1 to MND make that much of a difference? No. Cure potency is increased by 10% for both HQ and normal staves so again, its main use benefits no more from HQ than the standard.

In my opinion, you're much better off saving your cash and getting standard staves, unless you're absolutely rolling in cash (unlikely since you're a WHM) and can spare an extra couple of hundred thousand.

Ok then, I'll just get the regular staves and wait to get the HQ ones. I want to buy all 7 HQ staves for when I level SMN.

Our static WHM has to take care of the MND based enfeebles Paralyze and Slow, so he purchased the Aquilo and Terra staves to boost those specific enfeebles. That plus his AF body has helped a ton, he gets few resists even on ITs. The HQ Wind staff (the name slips my mind right now) is next on his list and considering how great the other two are, it should help a lot with Silence. He won't be getting the other HQs until he plays SMN really high, the normals are plenty.
