  • Errant questions

    Hi,
I'm wondering how other whm's who hunt hnm's feel about errant gear versus af. I've made myself the hat, pants, and bought the boots, and am thinking about trying them out instead of my af, which I usually wear. I've already got the bp which I swap during healing, replacing it with my tunic when I stand, and i'm pretty happy with that.

The thing is that I'm wondering if the -emnity from these 3 pieces is worth the trade off of the -vit, and losing some mp from my af pieces. Normally in xp parties I usually don't get hit, even with only -6 emnity, and local jeuno hnm's aren't much of an issue either from a healing perspective.

Though the errant does look much better.

How do other 72+ whm's, particularly those who fight gods, feel about these armor pieces? Is the -emnity worth it all, or will the -vit just get me killed on an aoe? Thanks!

When I hit the Errants level, the only AF I kept was the gloves for +healing.

Most errants give you a decent amount of +mp/mnd over the AF equivilant gear.

The only thing better than AF gloves that I've seen that are reasonably easy to obtain are RSE2 gloves that give +mp, but +healing vs +mp is debatable.

For HNM's and gods, you tend to want +mp above all else.

Yeah I tried it out tonight just for xp, and I was pretty happy. I gave up about 15 mp total for an additional -10 emnity, and I figure the masasive jump in mind should help with magic defense from aoe spells and what not.

The -vit is troublesome, but I figure there can't be that many aoe physical attacks. ^^

Head: Errant, but only because of the -Enmity.

Body: AF for enfeebling, Errant for resting and curing.

Gloves: AF. Errant gloves do nothing useful for WHM.

Legs: AF when casting Flash. Errant at all other times.

        Feet: Errant always.

          This is my typical setup:

          Head: Gold Hairpin
Body: Noble's Tunic / Errant for sitting / AF Body for enfeebling
Legs: Cleric's Pantaloons / Hume RSE pants (depends on mood)
Feet: Zenith Pumps / Errant Feet (depends on mood)
          Hands: Healer's Mitts

In general, as WHM, the only piece of errant gear really worth it is the Errant feet. Errant body for sitting is nice, but it's only 1 more MP over having a Vermillion or Noble's while sitting. The only time I'll really start switching to errant is if I get hate. In exp PTs I'll use Errant feet over zenith pumps though, since the feet give +MND which is nice for enfeebling. I use healing mitts as well because not much better is than it (except maybe RSE for exp PT situations), and the +15 healing magic and -4 emnity is nice (I like having a bit of -emnity). That and I really like the look of healer's mitts ^^

RSE2 for Hume F is nice though, RSE2/WHM AF is my favourite for WHM.
