  • White Mage Depression Setting In :'(

Ok, I'm a whm and i've been loving to play as one till now....

I'm currently training in Garliage Citadel and it's been the worst experience for me. I get some exp and lose it one second later to dieing. All the parties i'm in are really bad or falling apart. I got to lvl 34 with all this madness and dicided to go to Crawlers Nest but I have no map. I shouted in Jeuno how to get one and everyone started shouting different things and got me all confused. Do things get better? Should I go to Crawlers Nest at lvl 34? Do I need a map or is it easy to navagate?

Please help a fellow WHM in need !

Remeber, this game isn't about lvling or being the best. Its about the people and friends you meet /('-')\

Don't worry, its probably just a string of bad luck.

And no Crawler's is very easy to navigate, at least the areas peopple level at. From the zone keep heading straight and you'll eventually find the ballroom, you'll understand the name when you get there. People pull Worker Crawlers to there but at Lv 34 you might be fighting the crawlers en route to the ballroom, not sure since I went when I was lvl 36 and fought in the ballroom.

The real and only way to get Crawler's Nest map is a Selbina quest. The mayor wants you to go find these monuments and trade the clay he gives you to them. I made good money on this, riding to most of the monuments and then warping back.

Yes I would get the Crawler's Nest Map eventually, it may help when you are searching for AF coffers. (lvl 56 whm legs armor)

As far as parties go, bad ones can happen at any level. Sometimes you have to create your own or wait hours to get the perfect setup. You can also keep note of bad players and even block them. I don't do this to often since I know some people are tired and exhausted and can be complete jerks one day and good people the next.

Yeah, bad parties come and go, try not to feel bad. (easy to say, hard to do) Ive been playing with the same people since the game was released, and for the past 4 times we've met Ive died somehow. Mostly miscommuications, once a disconnect, etc. Dying sucks but its not the end of the world. Keep plugging at it.

          Thanks

Thanks for your words of encouragment. They mean a lot ^^

Got a party today and went to Garliage Citadel. Things were going ok then of of the members suggested that we go to Eastern Altepa Desert to fight Beetles. I went along with it cuz I needed the Gate Crystal anyway. The exp was good and I didnt die once! Although i didnt get a lvl , it raised my spirit to go on. Thanks for replies ^^

I got lucky and one was in the Rumble crawler room when my party went to xp on beetles near there and got a key before the small alliance camping the rumbles got one

just remember that if you get a lot of bad luck just take a break and lvl another job..

and if things get really crazy try subing nin and tank was in a party with this screwball cus we were board and it worked pretty well....stoneskin, blink, utsemi(sp) and holding hate wasnt a problem.. everybody knows how well a whm can hold hate

edit:sorry for any problems this might have coused(some ppl think im crazy for posting this but i had forgotten the desclaimer)
do not try this unless you have had experience with blink tanking.. always make sure you have your spells up... always make sure your party knows what your gonna do.. and never hope for any long terrm gain from this, it is only a fun idea that i saw put in motion and should never be taken into the main stream tanking or be used past just screwing around in a time of boredom

                Early lvls just suck!

Try forming your own parties maybe...try asking higher rank people.

Am I only one that found the inadvertant pun here amusing?

Eastern Altepa Desert is a fantastic place to get from level 31-34. Much safer than Garlaige Citadel, and because it isn't the normal recommendation by most of the popularized FAQ sites, is less likely to have bad players (though you can still find them there).

As for the Crawler's Nest... you couldn't pay me enough to XP there with any job at any level. There are reasonable alternatives for every level range that the Crawler's Nest covers.

Note the above posted requirement for CN Coffer Key for WHM AF. I definitely recommend getting the map from the "An Explorer's Footsteps" quest from the mayor of Selbina, which requires that you acquire a clay tablet from the Stone Monuments in:

                  East Ronfaure
                  West Ronfaure
                  East Sarutabaruta
                  West Sarutabaruta
                  South Gustaberg
                  North Gustaberg
                  La Theine Plateau
                  Konschtat Highlands
                  Tahrongi Canyon
                  Buburimu Peninsula
                  Valkurm Dunes
                  Jugner Forest
                  Meriphataud Mountains
                  Pashhow Marshlands
                  Rolanberry Fields

You do NOT need the monuments in Batallia Downs or Sauromugue Champaign to receive the map.

I just want to second what Icemage said, that Eastern Altepa Desert really is awesome. My LS lvled there and had the place to ourselves. we blew through exp.

                      Thing looking up

I've now gotten lvl 36 and i'm really happy cuz now I can teleport (Just need to get the scrolls for them first). I got my lvl 36 by training in Crawlers Nest and your right >.< The exp isn't very great and comes very slowly. I'll start asking people in the desert around my lvl if they wanna party since i now have the Gate Crystal ^^ Also I cant get to the FFXI page on the Playonline viewer so I did a File check and it said one file was damaged and to reinstall FFXI. If i reinstall will my Character be deleted? I dont what that to happen :'(

Nope - your character information is stored on their servers.. Not your PC. People would be able to "hack" that wack and give their characters more than they have earned...

You can play from any PC / PS2 with FFXI installed Just log in.

38-41 Gustav Tunnel on bats, gobs and flies

41-45 Western Altepa Desert on beetles, near the oasis... Safe place, great exp.

                          Hope this helps.

I dont remember where I leveled my blm 36-38... May have been Crawlers Nest... I shudder to think of it...

My whm I leveled in the crowded places, but at a time when they weren't so crowded
I remember leveling in Garlaige Citadel, and there were no bat trains... I miss those times...
