  • Mp/mnd?

At first, I figured lots of MP would benfit my Taru WHM/BLM more than MND, or a combo of both, but I need a second opinion. Should I base my equipment on MP, MND, or both?

    --Thanks. (^)(^.^)(^)

For Taru WHM, early on, MP > MND
After level 50 MND > MP unless you have a RDM in party

once your cure 3 is capped, you really dont need any mnd, whms dont debuff much ( except HNM sometimes - errant makes it easy ).

I would actually say mnd until cure 1 and cure2 are capped, then
      mp all the way.

Whm can enfeeble pretty well early on without any or much +mnd gear. The extra mp makes a much larger difference.

Dunno about the lv50 figure, but definitely from 61 on you'll want to switch over to MND+ equipment.

Cure V doesn't cap from what I've read, and you get it at lv61...

For hume's I've actually found the opposite to be the case. At low levels 0 or so I found mind was the most useful particularly as I did much of the debuffing. At later levels a rdm has almost always been present, so I got much more value out of pumping up my mp. I actually have almost no mind plus, and I find I really don't need it. With a heal staff there's not much more a cure V could do for me anyways without being even more risky than it already is.

              Note: I did specify TARU.

To be honest, neither MP nor MND do much of anything for me at level 66. I play as WHM/BRD and I never really miss the extra 100MP from my BLM sub. I find Madrigal, Ballad, and Finale to be more helpful most of the time than Elemental Seal, Conserve MP, and Sleep(ga) under most circumstances (i.e. Magic Finale 3-4 times on Doom Warlocks in an XP chain is over 100MP the RDM doesn't have to spend on Dispel).

MND matters when the party has a Bard and no Red Mage, in which case I gear up and push MND as high as I can, otherwise I don't bother and just help the RDM by casting Dia II.

These days I focus primarily on MP recovery speed for XP groups, not maximum MP.

I've just got my bard up to sub requirements level, and I may have to try that. Prelude and ballad would be nice for our set. I just fear that I will miss a heal during a song, as fighting darters in boyhada I'm pretty much constantly casting heals or regen 2 and 3 in an effort to keep everyone healthy while maximizing mp.

Indeed! Regeneration is much more valuable than anything else. I wouldn't trade my dark staff for any other piece of equipment. When I could finally afford my vermillion, it was just incredible. 1mp/tick seems slow, but it really adds up.

Right now i'm at lvl 13 and I currently am focusing mainly on MND. I never run out of MP, and most of the time i still have something left over to cast a cure on a tank or something. The MND really does help though, i dont have to cast cure as much because it heals for 30 HP and rarely i cast Cure II, only when a gob uses bomb or a powerful attack like that. So i dont really know, maybe it's because i'm taru, but i never run out of MP.

Im going MP now, but I do have +5 MND from Justice Badge and 2 MND+1 Rings (cant affrod MP+2 Rings w/ spells and all), also at Lv13, and my Cure1s have been capped since a level or 2 ago.

I focused on MP mostly but now I'm starting to replace some of my MP equipment for MND. At higher levels MP regen is a lot more important than Max MP value.
