WHM's are treated too badly!

Don't you just hate it when people treat WHM's wrong? I mean the party starts out great and then when someone dies they blame it on you. Or they tell you to cast enfeeblement spells and cure, but when you cast a enfeeblement spell they tell you to stop and heal! Pl ase post your opinions

lol funny this is I was in a pt with a PLD and we were in-between battles and we were all in orange and I was resting because I was about to do a DS + Curaga, then all of a sudden he dies, then he is yelling at me becuase he was poisoned and I didnt cast Poisona. I'm like "OMG What the hell?! Do you think I have ESP or something, Just because I am a WHM doesnt me I can see your status ailments!" And most ppl don't even say anything when you raise them! Some don't pay attention to our MP, even when I spam Status macro! Then the are mad we died because I didnt have enough MP to cure everyone! Ppl need to learn WHM is not an easy job. Melee seriously take us for granted!

whms to get yelled at alot, but not nearly as much as many of them should. people don't want them to leave and put up with a lot of whm's bs (most whms aren't bad at all btw, im just talking about the ones who have no idea what they are doing and boss everyone else around :mad: )

As long as I'm doing my job right, I don't usually get a hard time from the melee. I can't stand people who yell at me to cure them right after they get hit though. o.< That gets annoying really fast. Also, people who tell me how to do my job. I was with a RDM once (who is not very popular with many on my server) for using Cure IV in Garlaige Citadel when our taru pld got hit by jetstream and went down to about 175 HP. And then next battle, bats jetstream again and he goes down to 400 and she spams a Cure IV, when a Cure III would have worked sufficiently and wouldn't have dragged the hate onto her.

Thing is it wasn't a poison attack, it was a lil mandy. I guess he had snuck in a ... I forgot wha that attack was, but it got flooded really quick. Plus it is a good idea for a melee who is poisoned to at least tell me that they're poisioned, which most do.

Plus I am told many times I am one of the most efficient WHMs, that the person has ever pted with - I even get this from ppl who have been up in the 60-70s.

you let someone DIE from poison, you clearly state that -everyone was in orange- not RED, orange. at level 31 or so, id say Orange on a Paladin would be roughly 180 HP. you sat there for -1 minute- without curing a paladin? are you colorblind? if so, i apologize. the GIGANTIC RED PULSING BAR, would be grey, and hard to distinguish between HP and MP.

you also say you "Spam status macro" yeh, great job we all know pullers cant read the little yellow bar :spin:

and yes, as a WHM, you should learn ESP, i hate telling WHMs i have XXX status effect. if they bitch when i say "Regen please" in red hp, -WE- should bitch if they dont cure our status effect.

Agreed. Watching a party member's status is your job as White Mage. That, at low levels, especially includes sleep, paralyze and poison.

Had I been the tank, I'd probably have looked for a new group or found a replacement WHM.

If anything, i think some WHMs are treated too nice that people let anything go. I am a WHM too, but when i lvl BRD sub and i see a WHM that i invite come in with STARTER lvl 1 gear..thats just pushing it...didnt even get at least a Tunic or something...and the only excuse is that she is too poor....BS its easy to get spells and equips at low lvls...and she doesnt status heal, doesnt heal really much, and buffs like once in a blue moon leaving my damn BRD to Protectra as if i dont have any more buffing to do....Bleh...i wouldnt mind if she did her job and had starter gear as much...but come on! ><; 25 lvls of WHM taught you nothing!?

Remember the keyword is SOME WHMs...-_-; I know when i was WHM i was treated badly for one stupid reason or another...there are many flip sides to the coin...some are bad people torwards WHMs, and sometimes its just them asking for it...and yes i am a WHM myself...

It's your duty to remember what the different monster's attacks are capable of so you can be ready with the cure right away. If you see 'Yhoator Mandragora readies Leaf Dagger' then you should already have Poisona ready so you can cure as soon as the target has been afflicted. This practise is vital in certain situations, namely Spider-type monster's Acid Spray (strong poison), Coeurl and Torama-type monster's Chaotic Eye and Blaster (Silence and strong Paralyse), Lizard-type monster's Baleful Gaze (Petrification) ... the list goes on.
