With +32 mnd and maxed enfeebling, I'm able to realibly enfeeble (not get resisted when it is cast). Now, it might not last as long a a rdm's enfeebles, I'm not sure, but they usually last 1/2-2/3 of the fight, which is good enough for me. I put as much effort into my enfeebles as rdms do. I keep my gear macroed to swap out for enfeebles just like rdms do. +32 mnd for enfeebles, -enimity and +mp rest of the time. Perhaps if whms put as much effort into their enfeebling as rdms do, they would get better results, or perhaps I still haven't quite reached the point where whm enfeebles become unusuable (I use to be told they couldn't enfeeble anymore around lvl 35-40 )

I can't say as much as you guys only being lvl 25/8 WHM/BLM but I've recently gotten out of Qufim, and In Qufim at some points my Enfeebling Skill (Currently Capped at 72) was higher than my Healing (Currently 75). When I was with Qufim I remember being more effective than most RDMs (Some bad parties made me play both RDM and healer at same time because RDMs were meleeing and not resting).

I would suggest to try to get Enfeebling up. Dia every fight or so and Blind/Paralyze monsters that won't get resistest. It's easier to level enfeebling when Chaining Ts rather than ITs where you need to heal.

WHM can land Slow/Paralyze/Silence very reliably until 40 without much effort.

From 41-60, you can land them fairly reliably if you keep the skill capped and get lots of +MND (but you're fighting a losing battle as you get higher).

61-73, WHM max Enfeeble skill is so low that the only spells you can reliably land are Dia/Dia II. Spider/Enfeebling Torque and the above-mentioned Windy CP gloves can help, but you're still nowhere near a RDM's Enfeebling skill.

74-75 from what I have heard from LS members and others, enemies are rarely if ever IT+++ so you start to catch up and begin landing enfeebles again.

          In reply to this:

          (2) Silence. When you hit level 47+ and monsters that you are fighting start tossing around Ancient Magic that hits for 600-1000 damage, you'll want that enfeebling magic skill to back up your Silence spells unless you like seeing your tanks die
Any party that lets a monster sit there and cast a spell for 20 seconds without doing anything about it like Weapon Bash, Stun, Shield bash, Utsusemi, Blink, Barspell, plain running out of range etc etc etc, probably deserves to eat that and more.
I believe most sigs are like the people they represent - useless, loud and obnoxious.

I'd agree, except that monsters cheat and can cast Ancient Magic way, way faster than players can. I'd estimate that you have somewhere around 8 seconds to respond to ancient magic before it goes off against most enemies. It does not take monsters the full 17+ seconds to cast Ancient Magic. You basically have one and only one chance to Silence an enemy before it finishes casting its ancient magic.

I usually fling all my "stopper" spells in sequence when I see an Ancient start up. Silence, and then if that fails I'll follow with Sleep + Sleepga/Foe Lullaby + Horde Lullaby, or the appropriate Bar-element if I see other party members responding to the attack with their responses (Stun, Shield Bash, etc.).

I'd say 50-70% lands during my expPT's at Lv72. Paralyze is always worth trying cos it doesn't cost a lot of MP, slow costs somewhat more so sometimes I don't cast it when I could use the MP.

Capping it is definitely worth it /nod. So might as well cast it during PT's, since it helps 50-70% of the time and you need to skill it up anyway

Always Dia/Dia II! Unless you really need to rest for MP.

Had the enfeebling torque too, gets you +10 enfeebling skill. But I sold it again for a lot of money ^-^; I didn't think it was worth 100-150k

                100-150k
That would be a definite buy for me if it was that cheap. On Quets I think its at 300k-450k last I checked. Definitly not worth that much unless you got gil to burn.
