Could also say you don't really need Blindna then, same thing but erase can do even more good

Erase also removes Slow, very usefull when you just casted haste and need to remove slow on someone else ^^

lol~. Yup erase would have been nice to have during that fight, didnt get it till I was 75 though ><, that fight is still doable without someone with it, its just rather annoying.

The only cases during EXPing in which I find erase to be useful is removing bio/dia/rasp etc from a mage/paladin so they can rest in between battles (although mages can stoneskin to fix it) *and* evasion down from tank. Neither of those situations are exactly crucial.

Of course, the effects that locus mentioned are bad - but not once in now 8 months have I fought one of those mobs apart from worms, and that was in Qufim, during EXPing. Am I missing out here? :sweat:

If a party is going well and you can afford to haste not only the tank, but the melees as well, they shouldn't ever get slowed in the first place. On top, Crawler slow is directional, so it should hit tank only.
Spider slow is an exception to this of course, but Erase downtime is annoying enough that it'll take you a while to remove all those slow effects - most likely you'll have AoE slow stuck on your party again by the time you remove all of it. But hey, that's what you get for wanting to fight spiders in the first place. :sweat:

HNM, now that's a whole different story. Coordination here is crucial, and when you get hit with a 20 second stun, you'll want to remove that from the most important people immediately. But most people don't start hunting HNMs till their 70's.. 65 for weaker ones. So up to that point, Erase isn't much more than a nice bonus to have. Point me to one situation in which you absolutely *needed* to use Erase like you need Stona, Viruna, Cursna and I stand corrected.

If you want to prioritize things Stona definitely comes in first, cos your PT just dies without it ^-^;

Viruna and Cursna are really needed in certain situations, but the situations don't occur a lot. I use Erase more often. That I use it kinda gives away that it's useful already anyway.

Erase is, in most situations, a luxury spell rather than a necessity.

Being able to remove bad status is definitely no luxury, just very convenient in the cases where it is needed (and yes, they do occur >.>) and Erase happens to be able to cure a lot of effects, which makes it very good. It's WHM's job to be able to do it, so that's also a reason why I wouldn't call it a luxury.
