Questions about End Game Equipment.

Okay, I was wondering what end game equipment would be good. I've been taken by the White Mage JSE, I think it looks cool. I was thinking about getting the HQ versions of the JSE.
Here's a list of the equipment I want.

Aristocrat's Tunic
Aristocrat's Mitts
Aristocrat's Slacks
Aristocrat's Pumps
Aristocrat's Crown
Ocean Rope
Serket's Ring
Astral Ring
Senior Gold Musketeer's Rod/Apollo's Staff/Pluto's Staff

I know this is going to be a CRAPLOAD of gil. But I'm the type of person who has to have the best equipment. I was wondering how much this will cost me, seeing as how I can't log onto FFXI ATM :mad: . If anyone could give me a rough estimate I would be really happy and probably would start farming right away. I'm probably going to get Beastmaster to level 40 and do a helluva lot of BCNM's. Do you think this would make me a good WHM? I don't like the robe/slops combination, so the Errant's/Mahatma's set is out. Just wondering. THX.

The whm JSE is generally considered to be priceless. The going rate on the body peice between LS's on midgardsormr is about 10 million gil. This is for the regular version of the JSE. I've never actually seen the HQ version, but I'm fairly sure it isn't called aristocrat's...

Anyways, the only prayer you have at getting this gear is being in an HNM ls, getting insanely lucky rolls, and knowing some amazing crafters who can make the gear for you. It's not something I would plan on ; ;

Technically speaking, a Healing Staff is better than an Apollo's Staff for a WHM because not only is it Cure Potency +10%, it's also MP+50.

The difference between a Dark Staff and a Pluto's Staff is neglectable for a WHM, in my opinion. The only real reason to have Pluto's over Dark is for the Hidden stat for Fenrir, but that is more for a SMN than a WHM. A boost in casting dark spells (the other hidden effect of elemental staves) does very little, if anything for a WHM, who has no dark-element spells (save the spells they get from a sub).

Also, replace the Astral Ring with a Vivian Ring, and you have TWO convert 50 HP to MP rings.

I don't know if you had MP+ in mind, but those two items particularly tickle my fancy. ^^

YES, I will be joining an HMNLS. I've actually got one waiting for me when I hit level 60+ with my WHM.

So I guess the full HQ gear is out of the question. Here's an updated list.

The dalmatica does seem like a good idea. But with how hard I've heard it is to get to a Tu'Lia god HNM and others like KB, I might have a better chance getting to a full set of HQ JSE first O_o.

I am willing to spend a month or two farming for this since I have a nice summer break...But this is a long ways away I'm currently a level 6 white mage (leveling BLM sub to 18) I was told it would take me less than a month to get to sixty with that job. I'm just trying to build a good reputation on Ragnarok for being a kickass WHM. I know what it's like to play a WHM so no problem, I just want to be able to make everyone's jaws hit the floor when they examine me.

Not to sound nasty, but aren't you getting a little ahead of yourself? You still have about 60 levels to slug through before you can even think about doing any of this. Why not think about what's coming immediately rather than what's coming many months down the track?

Once you get high level enough, the basic equipment will be obtainable... good luck with the HQ though. As for Healing Staff, I'm never full MP anyways, cept for when we first start out, or if we take a break. And I lose the 50mp if I switch to darkstaff everytime i med anyways.... so no thanks, 50mp I never use. I'll go for the +1 stats . (Hey, I'm a cheapo ><)

Healing Staff might be better for a bard if they don't med often, and if don't switch weapons (are instruments in ranged?) but they lose the +1 chr. So toss up. Apollo's staff is amazing for them, IMO, weapon-wise, in regards to end-game. ^^ But meh, for WHM, +1mnd... don't see much of a difference ~.~ at the moment.

To me, most JSE are not that great across the classes, cept for a few exceptions. BLM get a cheap refresh tunic (NO FAIR T_T!!!!) and WHM JSE body is amazing... and amazingly hard to get. That damn thing is the reason I'd want to go clothcrafting... or know a close friend who does. You'll need an HNM LS with lots and lots of 70+ players for a chance at that, that cloth is NOT going to be on sale. Depending on the LS perhaps, but more than likely they'll craft and wear themselves inside the LS. So good luck with that -_-.

Anyways, if you're really dreaming, AF+1, anyone? ^^

Ah, and I forgot the cursed sets. And Errants set. ^^ I want Errants more than the others (especially because it's waaayyyy more affordable and obtainable, a lotta bang for bunk). Screw WHM JSE (other than body), it's for looks anyways. (Cept for the crown... WHM AF helm = ugly ><).

If my memory serves me right, the Healing Staff is only useable by WHM.

I mine a lot so I pretty have all of my equipment/spells that I need for up to level 30. I have been thinking about what's coming immediately. This is my second character and I sent all of the stuff from my deleted character over to Rodin, I'm pretty well off at the moment and I don't really need to think about many things, except Erase, that scroll is gonna take some hard work.....
But seriously all I have to think about is what to do at level 60+ O_o I have a HNMLS waiting for me, so if I need a item i'll be able to fight for it. I was just wondering about it so I'll have those many months to think (but apparently it's only gonna be about a month and a half according to some high level players I know on my server *cough*elites*cough* So I'm wondering if it's gonna be practical to save up for all of these items since I wanna look cool/be a good WHM with good Equipment. The JSE pants/mitts/pump + the royal cloak would look awesome together. (If anyone has a pic of someone wearing the JSE pants + vermillion cloak/royal cloak, feel free to post it ) Thanks for all of your input, and Tomfin is right, Healing Staff is dropped by ROC and it's level 55 WHM only.

Try to get some of those elite people to level lower level jobs with you. My friend went from 1->50 blm in about 2 weeks with consistent play, playing with some of his other retired dragoon friends. Leveling lower level jobs with people that know what they're doing is amazing. I went from 32-36 whm in about a day, without optimum setups, just by having people that knew what they were doing.

You can lvl amazingly fast in this game if you already have all the gil you need for gear and spells and manage to avoid bad parties. I did 31-37 blm yesterday and never have to touch it agian.

Sub SMN and you can have near 1300mp with all that as a taru at 75.

Heh, I've been lucky, I've had all of the Equip I need for my whm since I deleted my other character. I've avoided a lot of bad parties, in fact in Valk I've been invited to four parties that were being powerleveleld. Two of those parties had 2 people powerleveling us.
