I just got my red Mage to lvl 18 and got my subjob quest done

I started up a lvl 1 whm cuz i wanna be RDM/WHM until im lvl 30 then im going RDM/DRK

but anyway, I cant seem to level. I cant solo anything bigger than easy prey and warriors at my lvl are either too low to use voke,or too stupid to us it

should i just kill easyies for 12 exp each until im 10?

im lvl 4/2 now and i can see annoying-ness ahead

It's not too bad, I level my Taru WHM to lvl. 7 in one day. Just avoid the Carrion Crows, Goblins and Yaguda(sp?) for a little while.

River Crabs and Rarab Hares should be do-able at lvl. 4.

As a whm you're gonna have a harder time soloing for much xp. Forget what lv bansh is, but that should help you take out things a little easier.

Haven't played whm that far, but had no problem soloing to 8 pretty fast fighting mostly decent challenges or greater. Just keep decent gear for your lv and food. You should already have a majority of your spells from playing a rdm.

Your best bet is to find a lv 5 war and teach em how to make a provoke macro.

Almost any job can be soloed to 8 or so nearly-naked if you have a monk subjob. Just stay away from anything Tough or higher.

I am from Bastok and I lvled my whm pretty easy. I was fighting worms for a while... Once I was lvl 6, I went to the hill and lvled till I was 12 fighting gobs and sheep.

At 12 I ran to the Dunes. and lvled till I was 20. In Valkum you are gold as a whm... I never waited more then 2 minutes for a pt.

Having your rdm as sub will help you loads! ( it did for me )

I mean fully levelled sub (monk 4, which isn't exactly hard to get) or else your skill will really start to hurt. And yes, because WHM weapons generally suck at low levels and hand-to-hand does more damage. (it will suck at higher levels because of low skill). I've levelled even summoner to 8 by simply punching enemies to death.

heh rayquan I'm in the same boat so I know what you are feeling. I was able to lvl my whm to 8 fairly quickly going after decent->decent->even with a mnk(4) sub. Heh, even took on a tough Orcish Stonethrower, but had to use 2hr; not worth it btw.

Used an ash club until lvl 5 and then bronze hammer (a god-send for soloing whm) with luan (later maple) shield. Things start slowing down at 9 tho, and 10 will definately be party time so switch back to your rdm sub.

                  Thanks Yyg!

WHM is not hard to level you can take on decents you just need you have the buffs and good spells needed. Start of with a Paralyze it helps out a lot, then go with a Dia and use the rest of your MP for cures. I actually wait until the monster hits me then I cast a cure because it's a pain when you get interrurpted it keeps on happening over and over. Don't use Staffs or Wands use Hammers.
                    Blm.75 - Whm.56 - Mnk.58 - Rdm.48 - Nin.37 - War.37 - Drk.37

                    Merits - 98

I actually find the WHM job very easy to play in the soloing levels.

All I needed was a good club and a shield. Just pick on decent challenge monsters, or even match in some cases and you should do just fine.

Another option is to level as a duo with a partner. Don' pick WAR as your partner at the lowbie levels, since you are just asking for pain. Get a damage dealer such as BLM, which should be abundent in Windurst, or RNG, who can actually grab similar amount of aggros as you, if not more.

                        ok, recent analysis

I tried whm4/mnk1 for a while and i was taking evens/toughs like nothing, (i know what to fight)

All i had was Vegabond Tunic , some starter taru taru armor, a
-HP +MP head thing, and a +5hp waist

I would almost like never miss but my skill never rose, my h2h was at 0 the whole time to lvl 5.

So i went back to town, main-ed monk and subbed-war (war is lvl 4) so now im gonna lvl mnk up a bit, im lvl 6 now with good equip up to date,,a few mith kabobs and a h2h skill of 20, gonna get him to 10 then go back to war-main until 20 then monk/war until 30 ish.

Eh... I don't know why would you be having so much trouble with this... just go to Windurst, and go to East Saruta. From lv. 1 - 3, just kill easy Tiny Mandragora's and Bumblebees witht he occasional Rarab. From 4+, kill rarabs and see how Carrion Crows con to you. The rest is entirely up to you.

                            might wanna try subbing blackmage,
your elemental skill will becapped from redmage (or at least over hte lvl 1blm cap)
                            does decent damage
                            ranged attack
blackmage is hte prefered redmage sub, sure uc an go /dkn if ya want, but having blm leveld helps alot, if even for 17 for warp to help w/ questing
