hmmmm, pointless thread I suppose, I hope anyone doesnt get annoyed or anything....

but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone in these forums
I just imported (UK) FFXI the other week and started off as a MNK, with the plans of eventually becoming a WHM (I thought it might take a while to get used to everything, and magic on top of that would confuse me too much) but then I found this forum! After spending ages reading almost every thread in here I finally decided I could handle WHm sooner rather than later, and i'm loving it!
Started off using a staff, presuming it would be the onyl real weapon for WHM, then after reading a thread on here I changed to hammer and shield, and its working out great for me!

Ok so I suppose i'd better try and stick a question or two in here, so there is actually a reason for someone to reply to me....
1) I just hit lv10, was wondering what would be the best way to increase my MP pool a bit, keeping my bronze hammer and me shield? i currently wear my Bastock ring, and no other rings or earings.
2) Is there a good way for me to make money?? so far i've been finding it pretty hard, been selling 12-packs of crystals and stuff. I'm guessing now i'm lv10 i should start grouping right? will that improve my money making potential?

ok, thats all, just wanted to show my appreciation for the people in here who share their wisdom and make thigns alot easier for new people like me!

Well, to your questions:
At level 10, there isn't much that can increase your MP pool greatly, unless you have a couple millions of gil lying around. What comes to mind are Friar's Rope (lv14 I think), which'll give you a +5MP boost, Onyx Rings and earrings (+2MP each) and brass hairpin (+10MP).

The best way to make money at early levels is to sell crystals at the Auction House, as well as Beastmen items and basically sell everything that isn't worth much to vendors. You should also take a look at quests - a lot of them are rather easy to do and give a lot of money.

And yes, level 10 is ideal to start grouping. ^^ Either look for one or two partners in Tahrongi/La Theine/Konschtat, or go straight to the Valkurm Dunes/Buburimu Peninsula (although I'd wait till lvl11 to do that - Cure II).

grouping will mostly prohibt you form making any gil ^^

As a lvl 10 you could farm man eater hornet in front of dangulf wadi for honey pots and beeves chips (3,5k and 1k a stack).
