  • Meaning of Magic Skills ?

    Hello,
I am fairly new to the game, and did a search on this, but didn't came up with a conclusive answer, so here's my question:

What do the Magic skills actually do ?

I think my healing magic is at about 55 (cant check from work), my Enfeebleing is at 44 or so.... what does this mean ?

I mean, its fairly obvious for weapon skills, but for magic skills ? Does more skill in healing magic increase the amount you heal for for example... reduce chance of interupts.. does a higher skill in Elemental Magic make your nukes hit for more damage.. get resisted less often ?

Bunch of questions, and I'd be very thankfull for some answers, or maybe a link on this subject.

    Thanks in advance,
    Val

The healing skill let you heal for more. There may be a influence on the interruption rate also but i dont think so.

Elemental - will make you nuke harder with the elemental based nukes.

Enhancement will make you resists better. Barsleepra for example. I never checked if a high lvl enhancement skill will make protect better. Possible but i do not assume it.

The enfeebling skill checks if you are able to stick the enfeble on your opponent. I never saw a improvment of the spell with higher lvl. But it also can influance the holding time. My enfeebles where of faster on high lvl opponents.

But finaly all i wrote is still only a guess!

Yeah, I have to say that Issaac's guesses are how I learned them too. I think enhancing also helps with spells like stoneskin and phalanx to determine how much damage they reduce. (How much damage they take before wearing off.)

How about the Summoning skill? I still haven't figured out what it does

          It...uhh....it.....hey look! An obvious distraction!

          *runs*

Really though, I think it just makes the summons a bit more powerful, but it raises so slowly that it's painful to raise. I spent 2 hours summoning/unsummoning and answering questions about why I did it only to get 20 points.
