White Mage Armory: White Robe - Where is this?

Greetings,

So I was wondering where the pseudo-elusive White Robe that Level 32 Whm's can wear that gives you like +2 to defense and +2 to MND. (Not sure on the defense.)

It's armor that you can equip as a cloak, similiar to the Black Robe and Red Robe that other respective mage's can wear.

I've seen it of course being sold on AH's in Gilgamesh, but... if I am not mistaken, this item is actually awared from a quest. I remember reading it somewhere, however, am unable to find it now. (Naturally. >_<)

Anyone have any info on this? It's not uber or anything, but looks really cool on the character equipment screen. =D

I feel so silly. After doing some more extensive searching of the web and community sites, I discovered the information I was looking for. Allow me to share it with my brethern here in this community. xD Enjoy.

Quest Name: Distant Loyalties
Location of Quest: Southern San d' Oria
Quest Assigner: Femitte
Fame Required: Low Fame, San d' Oria

Quest Walkthrough:
1.) Location: Talk to Femitte in Victory Square, located at (I-8) on the Map. Femitte is requesting a special order of metal carving work to be done by an Elvaan Goldsmith. The only Elvaan Goldsmith capable of doing this would be Michea, who is located in the 2nd floor of a house in Bastok Market (F-10). Michea lives above a store there.

2.) Going to see Michea will prompt her to ask you to return to her with a "Mythril Ingot."

3.) "Mythril Ingots" may only be acquired by a few means: a.) purchasing the item from an Auction House (or AH); or, b.) making the item yourself with a craft skill (Goldsmithing).

4.) Trading the "Mythril Ingot" to Michea will net you a key item titled "Mythril Heart."

5.) Return to San d' Oria and speak again with Femitte. This will finish the quest and reward you with the following:
ITEM:White Cape
STATS:Lv32 Cloak (BACK) WHM, RDM, BLM, SMN, BRD
3 DEF +2 MND

Low Fame is required in San d' Oria to retrieve this mission.

I'm a big fan of quests, so I already did this quest, in spite of being far too low to wear the cape yet. But I'd like to point out that on my server the White Cape sells for a lot less than the Mithril Ingot you need to complete the quest. So you might be able to save money and time by buying from the AH instead.

As far as my server is concerned (Gigamesh), this is absolutely correct, and I don't know why. (Well, yes I do, but that just begins my point.)

You see, on my server, the White Robe is selling for like 2-4k on the AH. (@the 3 major cities) The Mythril Ingot is selling for like 6.5-8k. (@the 3major cities) This is in no way covering the cost of the White Robe as far as resell value goes. The robe is 3 defense +2 MND.

Now, I have noticed that the Mist Silk Cape with has only +1 MND and an elemental defense, can sell at the wide range of 15-20k. (15k lowest I've seen it go, 20k was actually on a player's bazaar.)

Why the Mist Silk Cape is worth more than the White Robe, I couldn't tell you. But it certainly seems like bad economics to me, simply put.

I would think the White Robe should go for the same price as Mist Silk Cape, but "that's" just me.

Anyway, its a nice little item and worth the trouble.

The mithril ingot has use to crafters above and byond the white cap quest ^^

White/Black capes sell for a rather small sum because at I believe 42 you can simply purchase a red cape that has the combined abilities of the black and white capes.

well you forgot to mention that the Mist Silk Cape can be equipped by a lvl 10 character...

That's why it is soo expensive. Oh and it's much rarer then the White Cape^^

oh and about the Fame thing in San Doria, I've finished about 10 normal Quests in San Doria and did repeadable quests about 20 times and I still don't get this one.
And I did the both quests in Bastok before too...Oh well
