holy breastplate

Hi guys,

I play on the Garuda server, and just recently attained level 30 with one of my jobs (white mage.)

I have a few other jobs, some higher and some lower but one thing I've noticed when looking for future armor for my WHM is that the Holy Breastplate is way more expensive than comparable armor for jobs at the same level.

I looked at the AH and this is what I found:

Holy Breastplate (whm40) 50,000 gil
Breastplate (war/pld40) 10,000 gil

It's bad enough white mages already have to pay for certain scrolls, etc. and get nothing in return for them. Buying the scroll of raise cost me 5,000 dollars and I gain nothing from it. Don't take this as whining or complaining because thats not how its meant, I know it was my choice to buy it. I am trying to be helpful and raise other players and be a nice mage, but in return I get people charging outrageous prices for my armor.

I guess all I'm looking for is an answer to this question: Is there somewhere else I can get the armor, a quest, a NPC vendor, or a shop somewhere?

Is my only option to buy the armor?

Dunno about holy breast plates, I was planning on getting it, but spells hurt too much, so i'll rather get spells ^.^;;;

Anyhow, on my server it's about the same price, it probably takes more effort - skills - and types of metals to make holy breastplates (perhaps blessed steel ingot) I can't really find any recipes on it, which doesn't make this very encouraging at all ><

Ya know, just because the armor is for sale dosnt mean you actually have to buy it. There are other cheaper options for armor, and usually spell casters are not supposed to wear plate armor so it will usually be harder to get or make than a war or pld that is supposed to wear heavy plate armor.

that holy breaste plate, you can use it all the way to 70. even better defense than you AF. 50,000 is a very cheap price for that thing.

Holy Breastplate: WHM 40, 45 DEF

When i bought mine on Odin server, it was 40K. Last time i checked it dropped to about 35K.

Ok, cool - thanks for the info.

I will probably end up buying one just because (like you mentioned) it is the only plate armor for my WHM. I just really like the look of it and the defense it offers as opposed to the other cloth type clothing I could choose to use.

I know the other armor's offer things like MND and mp boosts but come on, that holy breast plate is too damn cool

I saw the holy breastplate for the first time today and bought it.

I didn't like the price much (35k at Jeuno AH), but it couldn't be helped. I just had to have it.

Now that I have it, can anyone tell me which hands/feet/boots go with it? I only have clothy stuff and it would probably look weird with this armor.

What do people usually wear with it?

So to answer the question of the poster first: No you cant quest it, its crafted. So you have either learn crafting and make one yourself or pay the, very cheep, price for it.

I had my old black slacks a long time looking kind of wierd. After i got some more money in i bought white slacks.

The Armor with the white slacks and the red AF2 shoes looks realy good.

Holy Breastplate is crafted, and although I don't know the recipie it's probably more expensive to make than normal armor. However it's quite good. IIRC the def is better than war breastplate. I bought myself some and I love it. It also looks better than those ugly robes.

If you want to talk about gouging, 50k is chump change unfortunately if you want to be a WHM. Erase runs 350-400k on Bismarck, and Raise 2 hovers around 200k.

Can't get people to help with the Vazhl port? There's another 90k for a spell people expect you to have. Etc. It's a hard life. At least I get parties quickly.

I also found this alternate recipe:

Smithing: 80 (Alchemy: ??, Goldsmith: ??)
Earth Crystal
Silver Ingot　
Darksteel Sheet �3　
Blessed Mythril Sheet �3　
Sheep Leather


The Smithing requirement is Lv.80. My guess is that the recipe you posted is from allakazham. It's recognizable by the lv.80 require for sub skills... They seem to put everything at the same level for the sub skill, even though it's not possible to have 3 separate crafts at 80, but I digress... I have no idea what the actual support skill requirements are to make this item.

The only non-conventional ingredient is:

Blessed Mythril Sheet
Alchemy: 52
Light Crystal
Mythril Sheet
Holy Water

The other stuff is easy to find. Ram's leather is lv.35, Sheep leather is lv.2, Silver Ingot is lv.18.

That at least gives you an idea of where your supports need to be to not blow it up.
