Hit Control-M on the keyboard to open the Magic menu wen you have some time, and use the Sort : Manual commands. This lets you move the spells on the list around by swapping their positions.

Once I'm in combat, I quickly target the enemy, then lock on using L3. "X" then brings up the menu, select Magic, and up pops the Magic menu. Use the D-pad to pick the spell (remember, pushing Up on the D-pad when you are at the top of the menu will send you to the bottom, and vice versa), hit "X" again to select the spell, then use Up/Down to pick the target.

Toggling thru menus is never a problem on the keyboard (responding to an earlier psot stating "i use a controller so i can get to my magic menu fast" or something") to answer your question, yes indeed. It is VERY easy, and VERY quick.

      Cntrl+M = Magic Menu
      Cntrl+J = Job abilities
      Cntrl+W = Weapon abilities

      etc...

and also, in response to Sofakng, yes, i believe most of us who do use keyboard, use compact mode, as the extended mode is hard to move with. not having to use the mouse at all is nice. and fast.

So, thats my jazz on yo' jazz

Is the default mode the compact mode? I don't use the mouse for much of anything.. I use the numpad to move. Could never get the hang of wasd movement, I've always used the numpad for things like ZSNES.

Anyways, the only macros I have are for cure, cure 2, curage, divine seal, and benediction. Guess I should update it. And they're not fancy either, just /ma "Cure" <t>.

Compact is not the default mode.

HI2U Icemage! Haven't seen you around since D2Realms closed. Not that we ever talked anyway. :p

I don't understand what you're talking about, "/ma Cure <p1>" is the fastest way to cure someone and does not change your current target. However using that method does take up 6 of your macro slots. I used that method in the beginning while I was getting the hang of the game, but now that I have more spells I use F1-6 to target the person then a macro.
