what is the best way to use divine seal?

when i first got it, i tried it with a cure2 and was able to cure for at least 128 hp. I then tried it with protect hoping to do more than +10 defense....no effect. so what does everyone use this skill for?

I hear it enchances the potency of the next heal spell cast after its activation.

Yes this ability just rocks with Curaga, but its dangerous when you still fight monsters because of a big aggro gain. So you have to be carefull. If someone in my party looses health very fast i cast divine and a cure III on him.

Divine + Cure II heals for about 192 for me, oh the joys of being an Elvaan WHM, and the curses too

Divine + Curega can get a group back on their feet very fast, I mostly use my abilities after fights to get the group back on solid ground to keep the chain alive so I can begin regen'ing. I never use Benediction during a fight, and Divine is rarely unless needed.

that divine + curaga after the fight sounds like a good idea esp when i'm the only WHM and all the fighters are building up TP. will have to try it out. how much HP would it heal?

Divine Seal doubles the healing power of any "Cure" or "Curaga" spell that is cast immediately after activation. It does not have any effect on any other spells (and if you cast anything except a Cure/Curaga, it will fade away and do nothing). Note that it also does not affect the Regen series of spells, even though those do restore HP.

At level 19, your Divine Seal + Cure II should not be healing for 192. At most it should be 180. You won't see it increase above that until around the late 30's or so (and even then it will only increase to 91, 182 with Divine Seal).

Assuming you are level 19 or higher, one good way to protect yourself is to cast Blink before using Divine Seal. If you have the time and MP to do so, Blink will make you significantly safer from short bouts of aggro.

I use Divine Seal if I expect to see a large drop in HP - i.e. I start casting Regen on someone other than the main tank who just got hit for 100+ damage, but that takes time, so I activate Divine Seal + Cure II to "catch up" with the damage on the tank.

Until you are very comfortable managing your hate, do not use Divine Seal with Cure III or Curaga unless it is at the very end of a battle, or when you are not fighting.

Fair warning to those who want to use Divine Seal + Curaga - if you do this, prepare to get pounded into hamburger if your party is seriously injured. It will take something drastic like a Paladin's Invincibility to pull aggro off of you if you do this. Ditto for Divine Seal + Cure III (or higher).

DS basically doubles the output of your cure spell used.
                This is why DS+Cure 2 does 180HP if normal Cure2 is 90HP.

It only works with Curing spells, Divine Seal Cure does some pretty good dmg against undead, just beware of the hate that you attract... its like being a blm in a ways.

Main reason why a bard subs white mage casting divine seal and curaga after a tough fight helps a ton.
