Black or White mage?

Hey guys, i know this is the boards for White Mage's but i want you to be honest, and be honest.

So yea... I'm decideing beetween being a White Mage, Black Mage, or Samuari when the game comes out... i'm leaning towards a Mage though.

It's juts that from what iv'e read, and seen in the beta, Mage's die alot when trying to solo lvl, or am i wrong?

And which do you all think is better, i mean i wana be able to, if I or my party needs to, to be able to dish out alot of damage, and I still kind of want to be able to heal, have people wantin mt e to join there party, and saving peoples lifes..

I guess i wasn't really specific about what I want to know, I guess its really what do all of you think? whose better, or are both mage's equal?

I'd say the Mages are usually equal in really big fights, if they both have advanced enough Magic. For casual use a White Mage is probably more useful. Samurai and Black Mage are decent and fun clases too though.

If your a blm then you will be doing the most amount of damage in a PT (unless there is a good RNG). You will most likely always have little money and more than often be dirt poor. It is a fun class tho but will require a lot of time spent getting money or items. When you get a sub job (whm) then you will still heal when neccesary.

If your a whm then you will be the reason your PT survives. You will be curing, curing, and more curing. I think its fun to play. Its always good to be important. Spells start to get expensive tho and u will be just as bad as blm for money making and other soloing things.

With both jobs you will be needed for PT's (which is a major plus for me ). Maybe someone more experianced at either job can add or change this. I think both jobs are really fun to play and worthwhile. Both af look cool and you have some really cool looking spells.

Why is that Awntawn? White Mages have a important role in the gmae :p they have to have good eye sight to see which character need's healing and also good decsion making because if you don't they you may lose a character :dead: So I don't find them boring but healing all the time can be just "ugh" :sweat:

good eye? lol all they have to do is look at the PT chart to see who needs to be cured, then you click on cure 1, 2, ect. I also thinks mages are boaring, but, no mages= no PT= shit nothing to do in game. ><

Vagtark what are you talking about Mages r da coolest! Well I love Black Mages they are awesome so far as me I can cast Poison Blind and Rock! They may be boring to you Vagtark but not for me.

I've been thinking the same thing as the thread starter. I think BLM will be fun to play but i worry about WHM being too boring also. I'll just mess around and see what i like.

Shadowheart, i totally agree with you, but the thing is, I personally dont like the red mages AF, it looks kinda weird, id prefer, white mage AF or black mage AF. Can someone asnwer a question? Lets just say im a black mage/red mage, and instead of wanted the red mage AF can i use the black mage AF and use all of red mages spells and abilities? thanx in advance!

red mages are nice ...but... are weaker than whm and blm:mad: !!!!!!!!!!so i'm gonna be blm/whm when I get FFXI hopefully soon
