  • WAR/SAMURAI or WAR/THIEF?

    Which is better because I don't know which one I want to do. Also if you think WAR/SAMURAI is better do you think I should make my main job SAMURAI and sub job WAR? I also want WAR in some part of my job.

    Thanks!

    Dude, you're gonna be a SAM/WAR. You HAVE to start off as a WAR anyway, so when you do the SAM quest... you'd either become a lvl 30 WAR with a lvl 1 SAM subjob, or alvl 1 SAM and a lvl 1 WAR and work your way up to lvl 60SAM and lvl 30WAR.

    If you're smart you'll know what to pick. Also, as a SAM/WAR you'll get a fair share of party invites... most of which will be trying to replace my fellow DRKs. You'll be a crazy TP mastah and fairly good at 2H Katanas... plus get to wear snazzy SAM armor. What else do you want?

    The only problem is leveling up your 2H Katana skills... :sweat:

      war/thf is better up to lvl 59. you get more DEX this way and you'll get invited more often. from lvl 60 war/sam is better since you can use mokusou. About main sam or main war, i would go for war since i can use many strong ws as a war (such as ƒ‰ƒ“ƒy?[ƒW?Aƒyƒ“ƒ^ƒXƒ‰ƒXƒg?AƒŒƒCƒWƒ“ƒOƒ‰ƒbƒVƒ…)^^ I saw invite ranking on japanese message board. Whm and brd are of course top 2, war is in top 5^^

        Just a question thats been nagging at my brain for a short while :sweat:

        I'm wanting to get my war upto lvl 30 so I can use an advanced job = Samurai/Warrior :D

        When I finely reach that level and pick my main job as Sam, will my war automatically lvl up to half the lvl of my sam because I'm already lvl 30 with war? (if that makes sense :sweat: )

        What I mean is, say I get my Sam to lvl 10, will my War be at lvl 5 WITHOUT me having to level up my war again? Or do I have to start from scratch and level up war again to support my sam??

        Geez thats hard to explain :dead:

        If you understand it, "You" = .........even better if you answer :spin:

          from what i understand from hanging out around here long enough is...if you get your war to lvl 30...and you pick sam as main job..both classes will start over because your sub can ONLY be half of what your main is..however if you were ever to switch your WAR back to main it would go back to 30..so...ya

            Ahh, so its as if your subjob is like a NEW character? .........so basically I have to level up my war again...... :dead: but when I change it as my main job it goes back to 30

              /SLAP!!!!!!

              PLZ read what u just said.

              basically I have to level up my war again...... but when I change it as my main job it goes back to 30
              Think about aht for a second.....

              you DONNOT have to relevel your sub for you main job. How would you do that? To get experience it has ot be your main job. So how would you LV your LV5 subjob to 6 when u have to make it your main to LV it up. Thus, according to you, would go bak to 30 instantly leaving u between a rock in a hard place.

                If you level you WAR to 30 then become a SAM and sub a WAR your WAR will automatically become half of the level of the SAM. So...

                SAM=2, WAR=1
                SAM=4, WAR=2
                SAM=6, WAR=3

                This will continue until level 60 with the SAM, then it will be...

                SAM=60, WAR=30
                SAM=62, WAR=30
                SAM=64, WAR=30

                Basically, if you level your WAR to 30 and use it as a Sub Job, you will not need to level it anymore until the Main Job is above level 60.

                  Once you lvl a job it never goes down (except of course dying right after you lvl, which really sucks btw ). Switching off of a job and/or subbing it does not affect the experience you gained with that job.

                  Also, your sub job does not automatically become half the lvl of your main job. It still has to be lvled up. For example, when you get SAM, if you decided to sub it with your WAR you'd be a 30/1 SAM/WAR until you lvled SAM. Hope that clears everything up for you

                    If you level up a WAR to 30 and then use it as a sub for a class below 60, it will automatically become half. You made it sound like he would have to level the subjob again, which you don't. If the class you sub is level one then, yes, you will have to level it up seperately... but that's not what he was asking.

                      In no way did I make it sound like he would have to lvl the subjob again. I specifically said that once a job is at a certain lvl it does not go down. Trying to describe this is a little tricky, b/c saying that the job "will automatically become half" isn't really accurate either. If your WAR is at lvl 30, it will stay at lvl 30 no matter what. If you switch to another main job and sub WAR (say a SAM at lvl 20) you will be a 20/10 SAM/WAR, meaning you get the benefits/abilities of a lvl 10 WAR added to your samurai. When your samurai becomes lvl 22, you will be a 22/11 SAM/WAR. But your WAR job is still at 30. So if you switched back to WAR/SAM you would now be a 30/15 WAR/SAM, even though your SAM job is at lvl 22. That may have been a little too descriptive, but hopefully anyone who still didn't understand what we were saying can see how it works now

                        Regard to title

                        Below lvl 30,

                        war/any tanker is ok (i prefer mnk for more hp as tanking)

                        after lvl 30,
                        war/thf can get sneak attack

                        after lvl 60
                        war/thf -> sneak + decieving
                        or
                        war/sam -> tp charge ability

                        and remember lvl your 2h axe...war very strong post lvl 60 (but very few pt invite before that........:mad:
                        ?
