the best weapon for a 17 lv warrior is the "mosu axe"( sorry i only know the katakana names, so i dont know what "mosu" means, but is one handed axe, damage 32, 480 range and gives you +1 to your DEX), if you want to keep the two handed sword style, go up to lv 18 and buy the "brave heart" (again , i dont know the name in english, but it gives you damage 30, 444 range and Dex+2, attack+5)

Best job with 2 handed swords is a DK and best job with 1 handed swords are Pals

funny tho that the game gives you a sword when you start the game as warrior. o-O Why doesn't it give you axe.
That i think makes everyone understand that sword is warrior's best weapons.

ya jei you know what i was thinking, probably stupid, but i was gonna email square-enix about ffxi and that they should change the warriors skill with a sword from B to maybe an A at least

I want to start as a warrior and then become a Dragoon. Should i just have an axe as a warrior and then switch and have a lance when i become a dragoon?

well....since warriors are good with spears I think you should upg. that also. I think any good player will probably tell you to upg. the swords and axe skills and the spears since warriors are pretty good with them and people would usually ask for one of those to participate for renkea

warrior should be ready to use any kind of weapon as the party needed. Sword and spear are a must for warrior up until around 55, you should be able to use those 2 for renkei purpose.
together with our axe. don't let any of them stay too low and untrained.

If you would make a game, would you give the best type of weapon to the inicial character!?
Once the character starts evolving it would be able to get better weapons.
