    Re: a warrior question

It's subjective. If you don't want to be a spellcaster, then start with either Warrior, Monk or Thief. Once you reach level 30, dabble around in some of the Advanced jobs, and see which one you like the most. There is no single "best job" because they're all meant to be balanced to work together.

Personally, my favourite job is Warrior because of its versatility in the Experience Points Party. As a warrior, I can be a heavy damage dealer, I can help tank monsters, and I can work to balance hate, as well as learn a massive variety of Weapon Skills.

Been a while since I saw a War/Sam. IIRC I was one of the few on Caitsith that went that route for a while.

Honestly, this mentality has been ruining XP lately IMO. I noticed at the start of the NA release, a lot of people went warrior because ultimately, they wanted to be DRK/WAR or DRG/WAR. Nobody wanted to play WHM, BLM, or RDM. Eventually it evened out, and a lot of people started playing mage jobs. But as of lately, all I see is DRK, DRG, or MNK lfg. I think people should suck it up and play a mage job. And if they don't, I believe they shouldn't come on these forums and bitch about how they haven't been getting invites, because they're not WHM, BLM, RDM, SMN, BRD, etc. Why do so many people want to be the destroyer and do the most damage? Theoretically, you can argue that WHM is the best DD in the game, because we keep everyone alive long enough to kill mobs ;o. I'm not saying there's not enough mages, I'm saying that there's WAY too many melees. God, I remember when RNG was the absolute best DD. I couldn't walk 5 feet in Jeuno without seeing RNG AF. Sorry for the rant, but this has been pissing me off a LOT lately.

And to answer your question. The best job is the job you're best accustomed to. If you want to know what job deals the most damage, it's mages. BLM and SMN will deal more damage to a mob than a WAR, MNK, or SAM could ever do. While, at low levels this isn't apparent, at high level, a 1200 DMG Predator Claw from Garuda will do a lot more DMG than a WS, because you can do it once every minute.

You go Rodin.......and you are right there arnt enough Mages but once you get enough into a pt BOOM! everything dies.

the best job is only the job that you can do w/o pissing off anyone when you arnt tring to(messing up)

While I'll agree that WHM's and SMN's are few and far between, there are a plethora of BLM's walking around (and quite a few RDM's too). I've been playing RNG since long before it became the "it" job. And it will definately be my first job to 75. I don't think I have a single mage job past 10 right now. But I'm heavily considering leveling RDM after RNG (prolly THF too). I like the versatility of RDM and all the possiblities for it later on.
