Best equipment for Elvaan War/14 ??

Hi all! Ok I am on the Remora server (Elvaan War/14) and was wonder if anyone knew what the best equipment would be for me?? :confused:

Use scale mail until 17. Pick up some STR rings. And use a greataxe. That's about it.

What the above poster said is about it right. You can use a mix of Scale male/Country specific gear(i.e the Bastokan mitts that give+3 att), some corse gear (legs and hands only), and brass/bone harness stuff for a long time. You'll wanna focus on Str/Att first with Vit/Def a close second.

But the main thing is, use a Great Axe. It is an awesome weapon class and the best weapon a War can get. It does not matter what you want to be in the future, it only matter what job you are right now. And right now you are a War, and Wars use Gaxes.

It would also be a good idea to lvl marksmanship. Buy a cheap crossbow and stack of bolts from an NPC and go lvl your skill on too weak mobs. Wars have the same ratings in all ranged weapon classes, so the only thing that differentiates them is how useful they will be to you. With archery, you might be able to do a bit of extra dmg. But with the new Ranged weapon system bows have a habit of missing at extremely close ranges. Crossbows on the other hand have decent acc when close to the mob and allow you to debuff the mob, heal your self AND do additional dmg with it's wide array of status bolts.

Also, once you hit lvl 18, go back and lvl Mnk as your sub. Mnk/war and War/mnk work really good in combinations the whole game.

If I want to use a Great sword instead of an axe, is it really that big of a deal? I mean they each do large amounts of damage, but I believe the axe has a lower delay rate.

Warrior's have an A+ rating in G-axes, and a B-something in G-swords. It won't make a huge difference now, but if you plan on actually playing Warrior for a while you'll save a lot of time by simply leveling Axe/G-axe to start with. I would suggest keeping Axe and G-axe leveled reasonably.

All right, thank you much. The only problem is my g-sword i've already leveled to 70 and my sword is almost the same. I'm a level 25 war; should I started leveling axe, or gaxe, now?

if you are just leveling WAR for a sub (37), then just continue with what you have. If you are serious in making WAR a career (75) then I strongly suggest you level axe and GA up. You'll need a fully leveled GA by 70.
