It's your choice truthfully. Dainslaif does more damage, has a good added effect, and can be used sooner. Joyeus has a lower delay, randomly attacks twice, and has the all purpose coolness factor. Try which one works better for you and move from there

WRONG. when leveling you'll get that drain like.. 5 times an hour, MAX. Offhand joyeuse will get you so much more TP...

If a RDM -chooses-, they could never refresh, and just melee.
If a RNG -chooses-, they can use axes and never shoot an arrow.
If a PLD -chooses-, he can sub somthing other than war and not tank.

First of all...he asked for the better choice, best choice is obviously Ridill for Warrior, weighing pros and cons of other swords.

Second of all, that is a horrible analogy. Apparently, you have deluded yourself into think Joyeus is the end all be all of weapons, which it certainly is not.

Third, Joyeus is not hands down the better choice. It does less damage and has a higher level equip requirement. Also Charybdis requires a higher level party and more people than Proconsul XII.

Finally, it's his choice which is better. I listed the good points of both Joyeus and Dainslaif and am letting him decide from that.

he asked for the comparison of two swords, ridill has nothing to do with this

again, he asked for a comparison of the two swords, level has nothing to do with this, nor does how the item is obtained, obviosly if youre not 70, you wouldnt use joyeuse, and if you cant get joyeuse, you also would not use it

Regardless, it's his choice to either take your advice and use Joyeus, your shining sword that lights up the night sky, or my choice to equip whatever the heck he feels like, anything from onion sword to Ragnarok.

Both of the weapons are within my reach. I wanted to know if the dainslaif additional effect damage is close to the double swing of the joyeuse. So it roughly comes down to whether getting tp faster or higher damage is better.

If you want a good offhand sword for higher D use Espadon+1, more D and less delay. I have a dainslaif, and its additional affect goes off WAAAAAY too seldom to be of any use. Joyeuse will still have much better dot, it has much lower delay, and its double attack proc is like 50%.

Company Sword is better than Dainslaif in a leveling party anyway.
