i was wondering what invites were like for war's at mid (40-50 or so) to high level's (60+). i enjoy playing war for the versatility, sometimes tanking, sometimes dd, so i wanna know what invites are like for a war compared to other jobs. mostly compared to a melee dd.

My first job was RDM and my second was WAR. My invites when I wasn't in set parties on WAR were on par with my RDM's invites. This, while watching DRK and DRG and MNK friends sit around in Jeuno crying. So yeah, from people who know what WAR can do (everything) the invites are frequent, especially once you develop a reputation.

Yellow Dot: Hey, can you tank for us?
Me: Well, I'd really rather do DD at the moment.
Yellow Dot: Please man, we just need a tank, we already have 5.
Me: Ahh, well, okay, for a level or so.
2hrs later...
Yellow Dot: Okay, our DD has to go.
Me: Ohh, I can DD! :D
Yellow Dot: Nah, you're doing fine as tank.
Me: But, but, but....
Yellow Dot: Good news everybody, I found somebody to replace!
Me: /cry
Rinse, repeat... :spin:
As for frequency of invites, I tend not to be LFG very long. Maybe lucky, maybe it's the job, I dunno.

55/60 you'll tank and DD at same time...if you're a WAR/NIN. I still tell everyone "I can tank, but it'll be chain 2 or 3 at most...unless you got bard in which case chain 4 is very possible". Do they listen? Nope. Keep praying and hoping...all I gotta sayAll spells obtained!

Hmm I get invites pretty frequently most of the time (between about lvl 40 till now(53)) but there can be a few hours I go without an invite. It used to be the moment I logged on or within a few minutes of changing jobs to war I would get a pt invite without even putting up my flag.
I don't like tanking too much at this lvl and I put in my comment Tank (no thanks) Back up ok. to see if my invites would get any slower, as it seems I either die, become an MP sink for the mages and/or cant play to my full DD potential without causing myself to take heaps of damage myself when I tank. I preffer to be a back up tank to a nin or pld, normally in pts I've done that we can get higher chains with less down time. Anyway this didn't actually effect my invite frequency that much at all. Might try tanking post 60. >.>

A lot of people realize the potential of warriors when they're levelling their first main job around 65+. That's when I learned about it. Before then I could honestly give a rat's ass about warriors and thought they were third-rate tanks.
Unfortunately, people like me (at the time) still exist and don't know what warriors can really pull of. If you build a good reputation as everyone says then it will be no problem at all.
Also, tanking is no fun passed 50 and everyone seems to think warriors like it

Also, tanking no fun? ; ; WAR damage tanking is more fun than anything IMO. I tanked a large amount of the time from 55 to 75. I was always in statics with a bard and other competent players though, tanking pickup groups...uh, no thanks.
