  • Well here goes.

Ok, after almost a year of playing i have jumped around from one job too another and never actually settled in one place for very long.

After much thinking, i think the next job im gonna try is warrior.
But i got a few questions and ideas that i wanna share with you guys.

I am currently lvl 20 war/nin...yes i know i dont get anything from that combo but its the best sub i have got...well sorta, i can sub sam if i wanted.

My plan is too go war/nin all the way switching between dual weilding axes too using Gaxe.
One thing that tempted me towards warrior was the fact that they have fairly good rating in alot of weapons.
As far as i see it the more types of weapons i have skilled up the better...But i was wondering what peoples view is in a warrior switching between weapons trying too keep as many of them capped. Raising weapon skill for weapon types such as staff and club is horrible.
For example i cant ever see me capping my staff skill with my smn ever unless i level it with another job.

Also i am worried about the volume of competition i will receive from other melee types.
I worked out the other day that if i sold all my smn and rng equipment i would have roughly 800-1000k in gil.

What ideal peices of equipment should i buy whith this money if the time ever comes? and what other tips can u give too make sure i am reaching my potential as a war.

Another thing, how are warriors in end game compared too other jobs, how useful are they is such things as HNM and Gods etc..

Will i have too wait long for parties?

Is there ever a stage in the game were warrior become extremely useful/useless?

Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated, as i know very little about the warrior class and would like too know what i am letting myself in for.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if its a bit muddled and poorly typed, its getting late and i should go too bed.

There aren't any really important items. Other then the constant Shihei it's a pretty cheap job. Normal armor, normal weapons. It's until ~50 when things can get expensive, but you'll be replacing equipment with AF.

Just strive for the best(emp hairpin, leaping/winged boots, etc) and you'll do well. It's really rewarding at 50 when you can deal hella damage and tank at the same time. You make paladins look like empty armor when you're in the spotlight grabbing hate from them.

Good luck, it gets really fun.

When I played, it was pretty cheap.

It's not that expensive of a job. Aside from your normal farming, one NM drop kept me comfortable for a while. Keep in mind, I was only 52 when I quit WAR. But while Lv'ing subs, and Lv'ing my main I was pretty comfortable.

In the current economic climate warrior is quite expensive. But in fairness SAM, DRK, and WAR will all be on-par with each other. The equipment needed is pretty much identical.

        Must-haves:
        -Sniper Rings (1 at 40, 2 by 60)
        -Viking Axes at 48
        -Life Belt at 48
-Haubergeon by 60; alternately, Byrnie will work with dual Snipers
        -Hauberk/Thick set

        Should-gets:
        -Darksteel Axes+1
        -Phalanx Rings for tanking
        -Combat Caster's Boomerang+1
        -Royal Knight's set
-Royal Guard Collar (or Peacock Charm, if you're loaded)
        -Bomb Core

        Some good Rare/ex stuff:

        Tungi, Francisca, Acha d'Armas

At 70 plus the price to be a well-equipped warrior jumps quite a bit. You will need two axes. Juggernaut is shockingly expensive at this point. Woodville's is cheaper. Tabarzin is cheaper. But both are still pretty dear.
        Nusayb, Galka, Fairy Server- 63WAR,
70NIN, 37THF, 66MNK, 25DRG, 18RNG, 16SAM, etc. WAR AF Complete. NIN AF Complete. MNK AF Complete.

Haubergeon is no where near nessacary. Hauberk is. But not the Haubergeon. That shit's just redundant!

At 60 you're going to be fighting toramas. If you're saying that an extra 10 accuracy isn't going to help there, I say- "You're crazy."
