  • Tribunus VII-I, info? (Tungi users please confirm)

I was roaming around Quicksand Caves for a few hours this weekend, trying to find both ???s and I didn't even find one, but I did get a map^^.

The information I researched was pieced together and was vague, at best, but I think I can now find everything if what I have put together is correct.

    This is the correct map?

In West Altepa, go to J-9 and enter Quicksand Caves, you will come into Quicksand Caves also at J-9 on the Quicksand Caves map #1.

So, the ??? that triggers Tribunus VII-I to spawn is in D-9 on the first map?

And the ??? that gives the Antican Tag is randomly located on the second map in one of the small rooms?

How long do you have to wait before spawning him again if multiple people have the Antican Tag?

If anyone can confirm the information I have gathered, it would greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

??? for Antican tag is random throughout the lower level areas of Quicksands. If Treasure Coffers spawn in the area, so will the ??? for tag.

That is the correct map. The ??? at D-9 is indeed the spawn point. Trade tag to it, and NM will pop at D-8 and charge you. Pretty much tell your mages to be at the ??? with you because if they stay back he will pop on your mages and take a few good whacks out of them.

No idea on multiple runs. I didn't even bother to look at the the ??? after he spawned. I would assume it is 15min or so if there is a cooldown.

It is a pretty easy fight, duo'd it as 75pld/nin with 75whm/nin. A well balanced 60pt could probably handle it... If it got messy then with 2hours it would be no problem.

I too had to piece together all the information about the Tungi and how to get it.

While camping Save the Queen for a paladin friend we would check the area H-9 in Quicksand for Centurio X-I (drops the Shaman's Cloak).

In that same room is one of the points where the Antican Tag can be. This is the only location I personally know of. I don't know the exact respawn time, but if I had to guess, it is atleast 2 hours plus. I was never able to get the Tag twice in 1 camp session, some of which were 3 to 4 hours long.

The Tag also moves around the dungeon (this is why i don't know exactly how long the respawn time is, as someone else could have grabbed it). There were many times where the ??? was up, but as soon as I got to it and tried to click it was gone, only to re-appear about 5 to 10 minutes later. So once the Tag is up, its moving around the dungeon to other locations pretty rapidly.

It took I think 4 tries before I finally got the Tungi. A 60th level group of War, Nin, Thf, Whm, Rdm, Drk can easily kill this thing without a sweat. I would go so far as to say that a group of 55s could probably kill the NM. Its a warrior, so it only has Mighty Strikes for a 2 hour.

The first time we killed it, I was tanking (War/Nin) and the Whm didnt need to even heal. You can keep respawning it too back to back, as long as you have Antican Tags. They are rare/ex, but each member of your group/alliance/whatever could have one. He also can drop Adaman and other assorted lower ores.

        Hope that helps.

I only knew of one spawn point (The shaman cloak NM room).

I've camped that area for up to 4 hours with no luck.

It also took me 4 kills for the axe to drop from the NM itself. Make sure you bring a THF... it will save you alot of time.

Probably spent 12~ish hours total trying to get this axe.
