  • Warrior AF

I have also posted this link on Allakhazam, but I'm looking for feedback, and the more the better.

It's a comprehensive guide to AFs I've completed.

    http://www.freewebs.com/lun4tic/warrioraf/index.htm

Frankly, I wish I had this when doing them.

    Thanks.

All but one AF are now listed.

And to clear some confusion about warrior AF sequences. AF1 needs to be completed before starting any quests under it. AF3 needs AF2 to be complete, but AF4 only needs AF1. The quests under AF4 need it to be completed before you can start them.

This will also be posted on Allakhazam.com warrior forum.

      http://www.freewebz.com/lun4tic/warrioraf/

      Thanks.

I'm also looking for a more reliable site to host this info, maybe a dedicated FFXI site? If you know any accepting user submited info please do tell.

Nice, complete writeup. One small comment on the AF3. We did it with 14 people. One lv58 group, one lv61 group, and a lv70 SAM and a lv70 PLD. We put a tank on each gob and focused on the WHM. Unfortunately, the lv58 PLD died to the RNG gob shortly before we killed the WHM. The biggest problem we had is the bombtoss. When you engage, you need to pull the gob you are fighting far away from the other two parties. One overzealous PLD starting fighting amidst the alliance and we had a DRG fall due to too many bomb tosses.

It was a tough fight, but not impossible. I'm not sure if you did it with an alliance of 55s but my guess is that it would be very difficult due to misses and the strength of the gobs. I'm confident that an intelligent alliance of 58s could do it safely.

Alright, I'll make note of that in the next update. Thanks.

Castle Zvahl Bailey's coffer key is a bitch to get. It took me 3 days, 1 death, and a level to get it. All my other keys were very easy, either getting them in EXP parties or taking under an hour.

Every night we spent about 5 hours fighting, and only 1 would drop for the night. And ofcoarse, I suck at lots.

And according to a WAR friend of mine who got the first key that dropped, getting to the coffer isn't easy either.

            It is pretty good exp though, and I have my Great Axe close to cap. Neglecting it for 25 levels wasn't a good idea now that I need Raging Rush.; ;

              Heh, a paladin friend of mine got it tonight and he was pretty excitied. He found a coffer that wasn't surrounded by monsters, and right as he neared it, a Rdm came out of invisible and opened it. ; ;

Luckily for him he found another; unluckily for him he died opening it.

We did an LS coffer key party and got two keys in about 2 hours. Not bad as far as keys go. To search for coffers, you need to have sneak/invis up at all times. You search by checking on top, falling down, then falling down. If not found, go back up and repeat for one of the other holes. On top of that, some of the coffer spawns are surrounded by coffer mobs so you need to either have the room cleared or have the means to get out quick. I did this with a WHM. When we found the coffer, I canceled invis, got aggro, then the WHM cast teleport. I got hit by burst shortly before we teleported out and I survived the whole ordeal with about 100hp.

                  I died while opening coffer.

Got pants though and Raised III (I got killed while instant warping, so my body was in Jeuno)

Just wanted to say thanks for this guide, it was quite helpful. I'm done all but the pants, I've got my key but the coffer is tough to get. One death so far...

I wish I could find a good guide on how to best find that coffer. Because I can only carry so many oils with me

                        Actually, not.

You don't need to complete AF4 to get all other coffer AF parts. I didn't open Eldieme Necropolis Coffer, I opened Crawler's Nest one, and received my AF headgear.

                        Nice guide btw.

Spent 4 hours yesterday night killing Tomb Warriors and Tomb Mages in Eldieme Necropolis, no drop

Hm...nice write-up. I was going to level WAR as a second or third job, but now I know that they also need an Eldieme coffer key (seems like all the jobs I like do) I may have changed my mind.

I want to post this, because it helped me a great deal with Zhavl Bailey's coffer:

Each circle is like a pit, and inside each one there are 3 ledges. Now pay attention to those and you will notice each one is at a slightly different height. The top one will always give you access to that corner room where one coffer can spawn (check the link above, 3rd map). If you drop to the middle one you end up on the center of the 3rd map where you can check all the 4 coffers that spawn in the middle but can only access 2(this applies to all the middle ledges of the 4 pits). This is because at H-8, between the 4 possible spawns there is a hole you drop to.

If you drop into this hole you will end up in a room with fog with 4 teleporters. The way those work, each is only active for about 10 seconds when they cycle to the next. Each will take you to the corresponding room on the 3rd map, where again 1 coffer can spawn in each. Like if you use the NE Teleport you will end up in the NE room. Be wary that your invis will drop once you are teleported and there will be demons all around you once you appear at the room. This might sound unfair, but the demons never minded me and I used those teleports at least 5 times. Of course, cast invis right away after you are teleported. I guess the exact middle of each room is considered a safe zone.

The bottom ledge will let you access only 1 spawn point at the middle, and if you fall all the way down into the pit you can only go back to the 2nd map.

So as you see, the best way to scout once you get to the 2nd map is to drop at any middle ledge, check for coffers there, if its there but you cant access, drop to the fog room, tele, then go to the corresponding pit, drop to middle ledge and go for it.
If there are no coffers drop to fog room, tele, check that room if no coffer then check the 3 others by using the top ledge of each pit.

All this may sound complicated, but you once you are there it all becomes pretty obvious. ^^
                              Credit goes to this post:

                              http://ffxionline.com/forums/showthr...ort#post444510

Zhavl was very intimidating as a solo melee who was using powders/oils to get around. I brought 50-some oils and 99 powders and just camped on top of the area where you can drop and 2 of the 4 visible coffer spawns are grab-able... but once I read that guide, I began to explore with confidence. In the second "quarter" I explored, was the Yagudo one I think, I found my coffer in the room up top, beat some greedy gil-hunter to it :D

The whole process took maybe an hour and a half.

Edit: Eldieme isn't THAT bad. I just went on a PT there to finish skilling Great Axe for RR with /THF, and we got everyone (like 7-10 people) their keys with an alliance and me at 60 the highest level person, along with 3 other level 60s.

Getting the coffer is the hardest part... it's time consuming, but people are always popping them here, so just wait at the Hume Bones camp.
