Farming and Downtime

Ok I have a lvl 59 bst and lvl 60 rdm im currently raising War when it hits 60+ id like to not have to change jobs to go farming. Its also nice to go farming with pt light on and just use a dezone scroll. However, Im having a hard time figuring out HOW to farm with war, without having to sit for long periods of time. Ive been using sub thf and pole arm. What weapons and skills do you use to reduce the downtime? do you use food? Should I get a group together and track down a lucky egg? or should i just forget about it because my other 2 jobs can out farm war?

My friend now subs WHM when he farms with his THF. He has built in HP regen, can cure himself, and the dagger weapon skills restore MP. He is pretty much the ultimate nonstop farmer. Only problem is that he must rely on treasure hunter II and farm weaker areas for more drops as opposed to harder areas for more expensive drops. I mention this because, as a WAR, I can go for the more expensive drops since I have raw killing power.

Personally, I sub THF when I farm. I do have downtime to heal up, but I can usually get around 45 minutes of straight farming before that happens. My WHM isn't leveled up to where it would be a significant reduction in downtime, but I think I prefer treasure hunter over a little less downtime.

I have noticed that a lot of the higher level players sub jobs that don't increase the drops (ie: THF) but sub jobs that increase their means to acquire the mobs to make the drops. Farmed with a RDM last night who subbed RNG, have a BLM LS mate that subs WAR, some sub WHM for nonstop farming, etc.

Really depends what you're farming.

I use /THF most of the time since I have Bloodsword, I may have to rest once per every 2-3 hours of farming.

At level 41 I sub THF (my whm is level 6 :/), the bloodsword idea is interesting (I can't use it anyway at my level though).

actually, if you have a monk with chakra you can probably farm non stop wif or wif out chakra, just load up a few +vit items and use the AF. but good luck getting there
