  • Where to level?

Where should I level my Tarutaru warrior? I am level 6 currently and am thinking of making Ninja my sub at level 30. Thanks.

At lvl 6 you should still be fighting in North or South Gustaberg.

ninja has dual wield at lv 10.

at lv 6 or 7-8, lv in the Fumaroles in S gustaberg. After the mobs start to go easy prey, move into Dangruf Wadi and take on any Decent Challenge mobs there. I do this with all the jobs I lv up, except whm, where I stayed in Fumaroles most of the time /sigh

After wadi, go to the Highlands and fight DC things, avoid gobs and Rams. If you want to try a Valkurm pt, get ready for a tough time usually

Go to valkrum when you hit 10, always.

Last night I got a really great pt as NIN, level 10-14 (perhaps because I was rank5, and the rest of my pt was rank 5-7), and this was a valkrum pt, it's very much worth it, I also had a lot of fun blink tanking , too bad I had sign off because I was tired and running out of shihei...(I only brought 1 stack ><). But, people say valkrum is so horrible (and it can be), but there is always a chance of a really good pt.

Thanks you guys. So at level 20 which class would be a good sub? Can I sub ninja then or do I have to wait until 30? Also what should I get for armor/weapon and at what level should I get those armor/weapon peices?

You need to wait til 30 to get NIN.

At level 20 I'd be subbing MNK. And for armor I'd wait for the Chainmail set at 24 (wear lizard armor til then).

I agree, go with a monk sub, monks are easier to level than thieves, and you'll need the HP bonus over the evasion bonus as a Tarutaru.

                        Lvl 11 - Scale Armor
                        Lvl 17 - Lizard Armor
                        Lvl 24 - Chain Armor

Thats what I did with my war and I seemed to be tanking fine.

At 18 do the subjob quest and then lvl MNK to 15. After that you can lvl your war to 30 and do the quest for the nin job since it seems you want to sub nin for war.

                        AF1: Completed

Dual wielding sword is bad, get yourself axe/gaxe if you intend to play WAR beyond 37.

                              http://www.ausystem.org/~aushacho/gbox/ff/skill-e.html

Sword's have a lower rank then Axes. Every weapon level you get is equivelant to 1 ATK and .9 ACC. Therefore, you're missing out on quite a bit of ATK and ACC by dual wielding swords instead of axes (plus, axes almost alway have better DMG).
