Yeah, so now i'm a Star Breaker...
It seems wars have it unbelievably easy with maat for genkai5.
12x sleep potion + opoopo necklace to 300% TP.
meat+aggressor+berserk+warcry+Mighty Strikes.
Hit maat once 270 crit. Raging Rush for 1400, Icarus Wing, Raging Rush for 800+500 Fragmentation. Maat go dead.
My G Axe was 15lvls from cap. I forgot to switch my opo neck to RG collar.. my "attacker gear" was a RK Chainmail... Maat only hit me twice lol. :spin:

SO.. I'm more concerned with the incredibly expensive gear i'm looking at now. The strongest Axe Tabarzin (49dmg 288D HP+10 DEX+2 VIT+2) is 800k now... A Hauberk (def47 STR+5 DEX+5 Accuracy+10 Attack+10 Evasion-10) goes for about 1.4mil.
I can only afford one of these. My question is which one should i get 1st? I'm thinking the Axe cus I will be tanking with AF sometimes. :confused:
I will probably get a Reserve Captain's Pick as well when I hit 71, for offhand with a Tabarzin, or main with a Hauberk. But I need to switch to Sandy nation for the damn +10atk. >< Ideally this would be a Juggarnaut, but thats 3mil...

Wow, Haubergeon on my server is 2mil now, 200k until I get it.
Hauberk is 3 mil on my server.

Back to your question though.

Elitists will say you're gimped without Juggernaut, Hauberk AND Tarbazin+1, so basically the choice is yours.

If I was in your situation, I would farm for all 3, but if you just want one of the cheapy ones, just get normal Tarbazan. That will help your damage output and Hauberk won't be used if you're tanking anyway...

My advice. Farm long long long time, don't gimp.

Because i static with brd, I've managed to get away with less than superior gear. (Not that my performance was gimp in anyway because of the strong war abilities=) I can only imagine how much better it would be with those million gil equips. We lvl incredibly fast as is...

It cost me an arm and a leg to save 1mil. I work full time so I dont have much time to farm if I don't want to get behind my friends. Only 5 more lvl's to go too... Hopefully Hauberk and Juggernaut will be mine once we hit up some HNM. So yes I'm cheap =P ... Just getting the Tabarzin so I will still have money for shihei and food... ; ;

I'm not nearly there yet, but man I'm already sweating... Juggernaut seems almost-impossible to farm for. Last I checked it's around 3 mill. on Fairy :sweat: Will I ever get it? Hauberk, on the other hand, is a no-brainer. Gotta have that.

Ah well, there's always that new axe, Woodville's Axe. That thing is freakin' awesome. Maybe it'll bring down Juggernaut price, or be cheaper itself. Who am I kidding, likely not

That's the only bad part about a static PT. You have to level when everyone else wants to and don't get much time to farm.

I work full-time plus have a part time jobs and some weeks work 80+ hours. I know exactly how you feel.

That's why I've been 58 so long, farming for Haubergeon and trying to complete my AF before going back to the grind again.

I'm not trying to say you're a gimp, sorry if I didn't say it right, I didn't mean to apply it to you. I should have said don't skimp on the gear or you will pay for it later on.

Maybe your PT will understand if you want to slow down a bit?

Woodville's Axe? I didn't get to log on today because of working both jobs, but I will have to look that up.

That casting interruption down will work with Utsusemi, right? If so, that's sweet. Too bad it's rare, but it'd pair up nicely with Tabarzin or better yet, Juggernaut

War might be expensive later, but at my current level WAR is incredibly cheap. Other then Valk Mask, nothing is over 100k if I remember correctly up until Haubergeon, and total amount of gear doesn't even break 1 mil (Expecially since WARs don't need Snipers with Viking Axes). At 59, Haubergeon is a lot but then all that equip lasts until the thick series which is only like 20-50k each? (Except Hauberk, but Haubergeon and Hauberk go for almost the same amount)

While currently my nin friend has over 1.5 mil in equipment, basically equalling the most expesive piece of equipment prior to Juggernaut. :dead:

You can make WAR as expensive or as cheap as you want until, perhaps, the point which tomiko has reached. You could benefit from sniper's rings until you get your viking axe(s), but I never bothered with it. From then until ~66 can always have a viking axe equipped and get +STR rings. If you are /THF then other more expensive solutions may have to be sought out since you really ought to be using a two-handed weapon.

I keep atleast one viking axe equipped and will continue to do so for atleast another 10 levels. Alternatively, you can choose to go with the axe/bloodsword combo which may require a sniper's ring or two. A fellow WAR/NIN on Cerberus is currently using THE most expensive equipment possible, totaling out to 2-3 million excluding the peacock charm he is hunting for. He actually just bought haubergeon so that total is now 4-5 million excluding the peacock charm.

My attacking setup is darksteel axe +1, viking axe, valkyries mask, then +STR rings. This totals out to about 400k gil. My money is invested in the multiple sets of equipment I have, not just a single setup. Add my attacking setup for /NIN, my tanking setup for /NIN, and my attacking setup for /THF and I'm sitting around 1 million. Mandatory investment, in my opinion, since I've never filled any single role. When asked if I can equip xxx equipment or fill yyy role, I enjoy being able to say I most certainly can.

I don't know about the prices on your server, but on Cerberus the haubergeon is about 600k-800k cheaper than the hauberk. Since you shouldn't be taking damage, the difference between hauberk and haubergeon is negligible. If I were at your level on my server, I could get away with cheaping out that extra 800k and just using the haubergeon. Since I'm not, I'm going for the haubergeon as soon as I can equip it... yeah, I'll be farming awhile.

I personally used Tungi to 63 and am now using Fransisca until 68 when I hunt for the Axe I am about to recomend you get, Acha d'Armas (D46 Delay288, STR+2 DEX+1 VIT-3 AGI-2). I know you said you tank and it's very much an attacking Warriors axe but you should be able to get away with it until you can afford a Tabarzin. Hey it even looks like a Tabarzin so you can fool people

I'm not 100% sure, but at 70, I think you might be able to solo Amerent (sp?) in Kuftal.

His skins, on my server, are 230,000g. And he drops like 4-5 after battle, and they sell fast.

My friend said all he does his hunt him and he had all that fine 'million gil equips' in like 2 weeks.

He also farms in Beadux (sp?) and Crawlers' Nest.

I don't know which mobs though.

There's no way on earth a level 70 Warrior could solo Amemet even if it didn't have stone. Let's assuming they could though, the Warrior would have to have cat like reflexes or just be plain lucky to turn his back on the Stone attack every time.

I think there was a video of a 75 Ninja doing it, or maybe some one posted about it. I believe it was reported that he turned his back before EVERY stone attack, amazingly enough.

Maybe it's a set interval, or he calculated TP and knew when the mob was about to TP, or maybe he wasn't playing "fair"?

The worst that can happen is you die, right? Try it and let us know, just make sure you have some one available to raise you if you fail.

Amemet drops 1 to 5 skins, but getting more than 2 seems pretty rare. And there is no way I can solo it until I get Ni at 74. A lvl 70 nin might be able to solo it. It would be interesting to try avoiding petrify by turning your back to it.

Also Woodville's Axe looks mighty fine. lvl 72 50dmg +4str 288 D. 1mil on my server atm and Tabarzin prices have dropped cus of it.
