Regarding the yagudo parasite in Castle Oztroja, can it be solo'ed using a lvl 52 paladin? Just wondering if i could do this part by myself.

No, the yagudos around the parasites can easily pwn you. Even my 70 WHM got aggroed by those mobs.

I solo'd it at 55 with sneak, invis, utsusemi and mighty strikes.

The biggest problem I had was actually getting to the yagudo parasites. You have to pass through two doors that you cannot be invisible while doing so. At each of these doors, there are a pair of yagudo that will aggro you. I managed to find a nice JP thief that opened the doors for me and helped me clear some yagudo so I could kill the parasite.

Can anybody give us directions or locations?

I know everybody has to pass through the first door to get to the upper levels, but I also know there's another door you pass through to obtain the magicite. Is it the same door, but instead of heading towards the magicite, it's in the opposite direction?

And also, what's a good level to solo it at? Thanks.

On this same topic, how hard is the Quadav NM for the first part of this quest? What level for a melee to duo it with a healer?

I just finished this last night with a friend of mine using bard, i pulled all the leeches a to a safe corner and horde lullabyed them, managed to kill one of the leeches and get the skin before dying, would have been quite easy if a yagudo hadnt strayed too enar and aggroed.

The quadav nm has high hp but otherwise should pose no problem, had a lvl 60 rng and lvl 50 rdm help me, took about 6mins to finish it off.

Cool. I've got a level 70 monk to help, and I think I can get a RDM or WHM. That sounds like it should be enough. We'll build TP to 300 and start the fight with a level 3 light renkei

no it's not the same door. immediately after you enter the first door on the first level, to get to the magicite, you generally turn right on the second map, then there's a door eventually.

but on the first fork after the first door, you turn left and then head that direction, and you'll come to a door with like 4 switches. I was escorted and didn't open any of the doors but the magicite door and the parasite doors are not the same.. also past the parasite door the NM yagudo start conning pretty bad to a level 50, compared to before the door, they were pretty much all "too weak"

you should be able to do it with your in game map, lun4tic. I don't have any more directions after the door I just told you about, as I was escorted by 63 whm and 63 drg.

Oztroja is total hell for me, bad memories ever since I helped a whm do a mission there, then got dropped down a trap door and came out in a level 40+ area. Had to create a giant train to get out and the whm died.

One more question, is there an area where I can scope out the place before trying to grab a leech?

Ok I just did this quest today.. I will talk about the Castle

I died once the second time I got it and with 2 hour I easily soloed this at lvl 51..

Go up to the room with the leech pool in the center and on each side is a little halway stand there cause things dont normally come close enought to aggro there.
when it is clear of yugado go up to the pool but not to close cause the leeches do aggro (hence why I died first time) stupid web site told me they dont but they do!
ok wait til on is toward you but not close to another. It is a small pool so this could take sometime not wanting to risk it the second time I waited and waited it took about 15 minutes before I saw a comfortable setup.
Then I hit voke and sprinted back to the hall where I was safe the leech ran at me I hit my 2 hour and.... it was all over after that. I got the skin gave it to the galka in bastok (who makes you wait a day ; ; ) and got my boots..

hope that helps at least a little. and yes solo it the more people you bring the more chance for an aggro on someone in the room its not hard if you can get the pull in safely.

Your compass has red dot indicators of the mobs position. Use this to determine when it is safe to open the door
