  • Got Gil?

Well its been pretty smooth sailing from about lvl 1-13, but as I am geting closer to my next set of armor and weaponry, (bone gear) i've noticed that the prices have nearly tripled! and i'm having a hard time with gil right now.

Gil is usually kind of tough to get even when I don't need that much, but now that i need way more than usaul! It semmes unlikely that i'll be able to make the gil I need to buy this stuff!

So I am asking for your help, how can I make this much gil?

Anything you say to help me out will will be greatly appriciated!
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And just out if curiousity, i'd like to know if you had a hard time with gil at low lvl's to?

I mean, I can't be the only one... can I?

No you're not the only, trust me. I got by with Goldsmithing and made my first 10K off Copper Ingot stacks. However I recently have found a farming niche and have been able to increase a certain other Synthesis Guild Skill using the items I have farmed and turning them into other items for a profit. No one, as I found, is willing to share their farming secrets as there seems to already be quite a lot of competition at certain spots. Try asking people, like I did, on different servers who will be willing to help you since you won't be competing with them.
Using my method I make about 12K a trip, not bad for 3 hours work, versus my old fishing hich sits at skill 8 with 4K every 2 hours from a moat carp stack, is it just me or is Fishing damn slow now?
I managed to get full Centurion Gear with 5 trips to my spot, that is for 10-13K a piece of armour. Gil is slow to get in this game. I recommend farming and using synthesis on the items you obtain by farming as a means of making Gil. This is the only way I have ever really made a profit, and I raised my Synthesis skill in the meantime!

Selling my old armor usually can get most of my armor for me.

I don't know why people don't tell farming spots, obviously they know them. I'm bad at farming so I just go to gideus, palboroug, ghelsba and mass kill. Do I practice run to see what drops first then go and check what sells best, kill those mobs that drop more (ex: Bees in gideus, a stack of chips is 3k), save and sell those and drop useless things.

Someday I want to take up fishing, but it's too hard to raise skill, I've tried doing moat carp and I've gone through maybe 12 stacks of paste and haven't gotten an actuall skill level in it yet, I'm at .6 or something.

using little worms will get you skill ups, insect paste isn't worth using for that time period. But I used sabiki rig.

I personally skilled up on bastore sardines and sold them to people doing the quest in windurst. doesn't cost anything but time and if you have blm sub you can warp back to jeuno easy.

Bone armor is nothing compared to what you'll have to buy later, but by then you'll be strong enough to camp Orcish Barricader and Wallbreacher in Ghelsba. They drop Lantern shield and Strike Baghnaks. Level 18, Stonelauncher types in the secret cave around I-10 on the lowest tier.

That's how I make my money.
