  • Low Level Issues...

Hey my War is only level 14 at the moment and i'm kind of stuck as to how to level up. The fastest way I have found is to go to the dunes with a good party and level there. The only problem with that is at level 14, its hard to find a good party! People don't know how to do their jobs, they don't act fast enough, they don't have proper macros, and they don't know what the hell a skill or exp chain is so with almost all of the parties formed there, you get bad xp and you die! This is proving to be quite a problem.

So I figured screw waiting an hour to find a party who can at least keep you a live on VTs. I'll try soloing in the highlands. Most of the things there are decent challenges. I can kill one, maybe two things before having a 2+ minute healing downtime. So I tried soloing in the wadi in the lower level area. All easy prey (aside from the too weak ones). Doing this I can get 1k xp in an hour. This means to go from level 14 to 15 I have to spend over 3 hours of my life!

Am I doomed to have to spend 50-60 hours of my life playing just to be able to be able to get to level 30 so I can start over again with a different class? How is it that people go from 20-50 in a week or two, and I go from 0-14 in a similar time frame. And I play a good amount. Am I missing something here? Am I doing something wrong? Can somebody please fill me in? I don't know what to do anymore.

Oh one other question. Is bastok doing very very very bad in all the other servers? On my server, Valefore, we own our town, the area right outside of our town (how can we not lol) and the highlands area. Oh yea, and we're about to lose the highlands area to sandy. Is it like this on every server?
    Honk if you love bastok!

Party. That's the only way to level. You may be able to solo now, but at higher levels, there is no way you can solo as you need around 5k tnl at my level (which is considered little). With a good PT, you can level almost every hour (at my level range that is).

We're deffinetly losing it on sunday >.<

Partying is your only option. Valkrum sucks on every server. Deal with it.

valkurm sucks. Form your own parties if you can that may help a bit.

Uh, just to let you know... he knows that he has to PT to Lv... he just said it's hard finding a good one...

Anyway, I'm glad you actually put heart and effort into it, unlike these other WARs who still don't understand the concept of Provoke and don't have proper macros and armor.

I mean seriously... Bronze everything at Lv14? And a Onion Sword too? Damn...

A back in tha ghetto dayz when I was lvl 14, yo I gotta flashback comin' on.

I would go to La Thine and kill the Mad Sheep that r at the bottom part by the big hole in the middle. I was a Warrior lvl 14-16 can give u plenty of exp, tho they reduce yur Hp to about 25 or so but u get 120 exp when lvl 14, 100-exp when lvl 15, 60-exp when lvl 16.

Thanks for the help guys. And thanks, Funguwari. So my other wars (and even mages) don't use macros in the dunes and its really a pain. I'll just keep treading on through and try my best to level up then!

Valkurm dunes is just a horrible place to lvl but don't worry most people will get a lot better at playing the game. There are always those horrible palces to lvl like yhoator jungle....I hate that place.

I got 3 levels in Yoahtar in one night, it's not bad at all.

We also didn't have a BLM in the PT and got about a level an hour.

If you put a little effort into making your own party instead of just sitting there with your flag up, you wouldn't have those problems. advice for the dunes: don't invite players below rank3 unless you make sure they know what they're doing first.. in general (not always, but in general), higer ranked players will be more aware of what kind of gear to wear, how to use food, and how to play their job correctly.

don't just sit there and expect to magically get invited to a good party (because this rarely EVER happens in valkurm, much less qufim or kazham)... start making your own parties.

I do form my own parties a lot. As for finding rank 3 or above, that is very hard on my server. Its rare you find rank 3 or higher in the dunes and usually when you do they don't speak english!

I do, however, try to find people with subjobs.. but that seems to be hard also

Yea i have a secondary character that just hit lvl 10 and likes to pt as a WAR with no subjob..however i do have legionare bandanna and gloves and scale gear and rings/belt ready, and food and just about everything i can do at that lvl to prepare myself for party...i even put a search comment.

Its just...the stress when you make a party at those levels...you try to keep things together and yet it falls apart anyway due to the stupidity there...i just hope it doesnt happen to me again -_-'' [/rant]
