leveling question

I'm a level 10 hume warrior in san'd'oria region using a great axe, everytime i tank fighting in the dunes, i've gotten killed. Anyone got any suggestions on leveling? (i'm pretty new to the game)

It's not easy leveling in Dunes, it's where people start off parting experience :sweat:. You can level you're warrior to level 15 if you liked... but they there are it's good parties .

there are 3 possibilities:

1) you're only lvl 10... VD is really hard at that level unless you have a party that knows what they're doing (everybody)

2) you're lacking a well balanced party, e.g. people have no/less than ideal subs, not enough healing (and at 10 you will most likely need 2), no enough damage

3) you are taking on too hard monsters. you should only be sticking to the lizzys and hares, but you'll be hard pressed to find one that you'll be able to handle at 10.

I strongly suspect 1. My recommendation is to lvl in lathiene until 12. If you solo, level on the rock eaters. If you're in a party, level on the crabs, sheep and goblins by the pond.

Anyways back to your question. At level 10 hunting in Valkurm is pretty dicey. You'll be entering the dunes from the north so you'll miss out of most of the lizard parties that happen there around lvl 12 which usually form near the zone to Konschatt.

You'll have a better bet leveling the next few levels in ghselba (sic) outpost. People sometime put together small hunting parties but it's still good for solo hunting as well.

You should stick to the ez things even if they only give 50-25 exp. It may sound like a slow process but it gain you lvls fast.
