  • One Handed or Two Handed Axe?

I just started playing my Elvaan character a while ago and am now at level 9 as a Warrior. I have heard that Great Axes are the best weapon to choose, but I never hear about One-Handed Axes.
Are they A class weapons for Warriors to, or am I just wasting my time leveling it?
Any help is appreciated, thank you.

If I were you, I would buy both, and keep them updated.

But, if you can only afford one, go w/Great axe... tanking or not.

You'll notice WARs at your Lv using Great swords... but, the WSs on the Great axe are better and you just do overall more damage.

Stay away from one handed swords please... I'm sick of Lv'ing subjobs and inviting low Lv WARs for damage... and they can't deal it...

A tank with a 2h weapon... bleh. And some people call monks cure sponges - they at least have guard, counter and dodge.

Do your healer a favor and don't tank without a shield (unless you're a nin MAIN, not sub). The damage won't help you hold hate off the whm - because he has to spam 2-3x as many cures to keep your shieldless ass alive. It might help you hold hate off a suicidal blm, but you just need to let them get slapped around until they learn hate control. (ha ha only serious)

If you don't want to let down the job of warrior, keep an up-to-date great axe, axe and shield, and be prepared to wield either (i.e. keep your skill up) depending on whether you are a tank or a damage dealer in any particular party.

Or if you sub NIN you can carry two 1h axes and a shield instead, but I haven't seen many dual wielding WARs so I don't know how effective it really is.

As a warrior you should have both 1hx and 2hx maxed out. It won't be hard at all to keep both of them maxed.
