Belt, Axe question

Tanking, would you still do lifebelt, regardless that it adds no defense over RK belt, which adds 5 defense, as well as slight stat bonuses? (+2 INT/MND/CHA/STR/DEX/AGI)

Second, does the 36 damage on a Viking Axe really gimp your WS damage compared to 40 damage on the level 50 axe +1 version? Also if you were a /NIN, would you prefer to lose 20 evasion dual wielding a Viking Axe to gain the +20 accuracy? I know high level mobs are accurate and never miss supposedly doesn't make a different yet the -20 evasion bothers me.

Life Belt > R.K. Belt... even if you're tanking. The more hits you land, the more hate you generate.

I personally wouldn't bother with the Viking Axe, but that's my opinion. The inferior damage rating, and the negative evasion factor don't really offset the advantages of +20 ACC for me.

I would have to see your gear before making that determination.

Personally, I won't buy Lifebelt because I've never had a problem with Accuracy (yet). Only when crabs use Evasion Up (and this is only for a few seconds while the RDM uses Dispel).

I'm buying Master Belt...or Sarashi...I haven't decided yet.

I stuck with the Life Belt.
I went with one Viking Axe in off hand, and the 40dmg Axe in the main when I was lvl 50.
In fact, I still use the Viking Axe in my off hand, as some mobs that u fight on during the late 50's and early 60's have mad evade. Terror Pugils, Raptors, Perydons (hate these), then Torama. Without a bard and +acc equip, these will be murderous to try to hit. Even tho it is 36dmg compared to 44 in my main hand, it really helps me land multi-hit Rampages. War keeps hate with damage, so acc is very important. Then again, I dont recommend war tanking during the 50's until full AF.

These status dont help you tank at all. If i were you, i would use Taru race only belt (3 def 2 str 3 vit 40 hp) and weapon i wound not use 1h axe/shield as a tank at your lvl. i would use Great axe as a tank. Why? because lvl 50 you fight beetle in crawler nest, lvl 53 you fight kuftal crab, lvl 55 you fight boyah crab, lvl 57 you fight terrigan crabs untill lvl 60. They are All weak against Ice so all you need to do is to solo shield break at the begining of the fight and let other 2 ppl renkei. Acc gear, you dont need any, all you need is vit/def gear because with shield break even you can hit the monster. At lvl 60+ it will be a bit different.

I sometimes use aggressor if i am behind on TP. Also the 6 free hit at the begining of the battle is very amazing.

Why do you need to worry about dmg as a tank? 2 days ago i was an attacker and my decimation hit 300-600 damage. Yesterday i was a tank and my decimation hit 0-90 damage. with fish kabob + defender you do no dmg.
