I need to level up my WAR as a sub, and I've decided to go with the Gaxe instead of dual Axes this time. At 25, there is the weapon Plantbane with the stats

DMG: 43
Delay: 504
Add Effect Vs.Plantoids : Fie Damage

Is the added effect like a latent effect, where when the condition is met (HP = yellow, mob = plantoids) it goes off? Or is it like the other normal added effects (hardly ever on an IT mob)?

Even if it's like the other added effects, would it be better then Neckchopper?

Plantbane has better DMG/DLY, but that accuracy +5 would be very helpful since there isn't a lot of +ACC gear as that level.

I've used this weapon, and I'm glad I did. The level range you get it is ideal, because you get to use this weapon throughout Kazham. Mandragoras, your primary target, are plantoids, and they get owned by this weapon.

Wielding this weapon, I was inflicting significant damage if I was in a non-Tank role.

To answer your question: The effect has a seemingly random chance to go off, though from my recollection, it went off often. When you swing and hit, and it goes off, you'll see a small burst of fire on your target as well as an Additional Damage message. The damage range of the effect varies quite a bit though.

I personally found it better than my Neckchopper, because it clearly did more damage, and Mandragoras weren't too hard for me to hit. Besides, you have Shield Break!
