  • Accuracy improvements mid 20's ?

Hit lvl 25, fightin IT's, what can i do to land more than 1 out of 4 attacks? Im a Mithra War/Thf with good dex but im still havin problems. Usin Mithkabobs but I'de much rather connect more often than do good damage a quarter of the time. Any suggestions, equipment or food that could improve this.

    Thanks much,

    Lunakat

i would assume your weapons skill is capped... in that case, +dex & +acc eq (but these tend to get expensive) or (and i find this to help immensely) debuffs. if you have a rdm, make sure they get gravity and dia off. being war yourself, shield break. lowering the mob's evasion and defense help alot.

    Thanks Yyg!

Post your gear +dex is the best choice, and shield break will help a lot as previously posted. You can't really get any +acc gear that I can think of as a warrior until 30.

The easier solution, is to just chain T and VT. They're usually better xp over time anyways since you will completely destroy them versus IT's.

I am going to post this so everyone can have a good laugh... lvl 25 War --- G Axe skill = 0...

I am now ashamed of myself, I've been a mmo gamer for 6 years and I overlook a little thing like Shield Break...

Have Axe, Sword, and Polearm capped. Didnt raise G Axe cuz i wasnt gonna go War or Drk post 30. I have wanted to but just been concentrating on xp.

Well, I'm off to kill some forest hares....

No huge need to level greataxe if you don't think you're going to play warrior permanently, just use regular axes.

+acc gear is rare pre30, your best bet are the +2 dex rings, neck chopper great axe or braveheart great sword.

Mandra got a good evade score, your best bet is get a rdm to use gravity and a blm to use frost so you can hit more often. Shield break ws does help a lot too, but more often at that i would prefer to use a good 200 dmg sturmwind on these.

You can take one of these options or combine all of them for maximum result.

#1 Sub ranger from lv 20~29 (yes Ranger! I'm not crazy) if you have that one. I hardly miss with my neck chopper (7~8/10) while subbing Ranger. You can also sub monk if you want to tank (since thf only gives you +1dex compare to mnk sub anyway).

#2 Use Shield break (Great Axe skill) at start of battle if possible. If you don't have enough TP after the monster Hp drop below 75% then save them for next battle. I'm pretty sure you will get about 90~180% TP after every battle.

#3 Don't have that Shield Break or Ranger sub job? No problem, get to party with a Red Mage and/or Bard so they can lower monster's evasion or boost your accuracy.

#4 Some ITs are tougher than other ITs, use your boost ability (if you sub monk) to measure its defence then its evasion should be around that range (ie. high defence -> possibly high evasion too). Other wise, chain VTs and Ts, they have generally low evasion compare to yours.

With mithkabobs, 2 balance rings, Hume RSE gloves, Spike Necklace and sometimes my Emperor Hairpin (when not fighting gobs) I have no problems hitting. I even do all the tanking. I'm subbing DRG and using the lv24 Spear right now.

I think ranger accuracy buff is only related to ranged attacks, it's like a +ranged acc.

Neckchopper got a +5acc on it, and that's more than enought to hit stuff 7-8 times out of 10.

Ranger's Accuracy bonus is related to all physical attack. That means range and melee too.

Yeah, it's obvious, Accuracy and DEX+ gear are a must.

Your axe is nice, you should use that. Your axe has a A- (or, A) rating... the other WAR weapons are in the B, B+, B- range. Of course, when your skills are capped... you do more damage, and you connect more, not to mention you get access to weapon skills faster.

So, generally you'd want to pick weapons that have the higher ratings. Here is the skillcap chart:

                      http://www.ausystem.org/~aushacho/gbox/ff/skill-e.html

Other than that, you need a RDM to cast Gravity or something, 'cause that always helps.

With all those factors combined, you should have a easy time hitting, also, make sure your sub is Lv'ed... a Lv1 THF sub dosen't add squat to your accuracy, so you'd want it Lv'ed.

What level are those rings? Im at work and don't have much access to Final Fantasy sites to go look it up. Those rings sound nice if I can land a pair of them at my level.

Balance rings are lv 14. Usually 10-14k each on Phoenix.

If i recall correctly the balance rings (+2dex) are lvl 14. So are the Amythest rings (+1dex). I know the amy rings go for 3k at the san'd AH on Fairy. Dont know bout elsewhere.

Wow, that's expensive. Im only Lvl. 10 on my WAR right now, so I can save up for that I guess. Well, I have the Sandy ring, so I should only need 1.
