skilling up weapon

Spear 95... <---------- this one is what I need help with

If I practice spear in exp group I do less damage, my axe will soon outdmg my spear. (in terms of ratio alone)

Is there any easy way to raise it? I want the pentathrust but polearm is 13 levels of skill behind.

Also should I raise great sword skill despite the fact that we don't get any of the 200 skills? I know this is the same situation with polearm, but at least polearm has pentathrust, does great sword really have the power to compete with rampage, pentathrust or raging rush in terms of viability during skillchains? Should I level up a dragoon to 49 to get pentathrust then switch back to warrior?

No use at all to lvl drg just to get that penta thrust... one thing you can do is make a skill up pt... go to let say 95 you still at yhoator most probably lvllin so kinda got to fight the crawlers at CN or bats at garlaige to lvl your spear up..... It's not hard to make a skill up pt.. it's jut all about the dedication for getting your ws up to date....

Join skill up party, at this stage where everyone around your level needs their AF, there'll be lotsa shouts for key hunts and skill ups.

and make sure u also train ur Great Axe up to ur cap. one reason is Keen Edge, which can start 3-chain Distortion renkei, and another is that u'll miss less. also, unless u can use Sword, make sure u bring Axe up to cap as well, for Spinning Axe which may become needed for Fusion renkei depending on party setup.

i know it's hard, but it is a WAR's responsibility to bring the mainstream weapons' skills as high as possible. WAR is a weapon specialist, and idealy, should be able to use all the weapons that party might ask u to use.

last but not least, here'a piece of advice; never use a weapon which is more than 10 skills below the cap in exp parties. not only will u miss less, which results in slow renkei cycle, u'll hit for less dmg.

Great infor there from bside, I can't tell you how annoying it is when someone switches weapons in party to skill it up and they hardly hit and if they do it is for crap damage. At your level everyone is looking for help on genkai so I would suggest joining genkai parties for skillups, I managed to camp the 6 main weapons I use during genkai hunts albeit it was a bit slow at the end but skill none the less

join skill up PTs, its easy to find those in Jeuno just becareful on the NA ones they assume you are high level and will use prim weapon l33t kill for them. JP ones they set a time to start and get atleast 2PTs no matter the level if short on WHM they suggest people to /rdm or /whm bring their own heal. key drop need before greed if you need key or testimony you dont lot loots. just a FYI i can read part of japanese so i know these and joined key/skill/testimony farming event from japanese, was 3 PTs lv65-70 people.

At lvl 50, you can easily skill up your spear to 110-120.

From 70-110 go near norg in sea serpent grotto and kill crabs/skellies there.

You can probably get 120 at this same spot, but you might have it easier moving to CN on worker crawlers or lost souls at eldieme entrance.

At 120, you'll have a decent hit rate to skill up your weapon to 150 helping people getting their genkai1 items.

i only compared ur post w/ ur info on the left (which was WAR 50 at that time), so i didn't mean to be rude in anyway.
