I leveled warrior long ago as my first job and only used the 1H axe for a little while and then switched to 2H sword. I know now at level 31 warrior that 1H axes are one of the best weapons for warrior. Can anyone give me some input as to the very quickest way to level my axe from 20 up to about 80 to 90? I've tried a couple ways that seem a little too slow for me.

Mandragoras in Yhoator can take you to 100 in any weapon skill. That said, at lv31 they're still group-experience fights.
My advice is Korrolaka tunnel until the 50s in Axe. Land Worms SHOULD get Axe that high, and at 31 they shouldn't be a huge problem. I forget what works best after that, but high-end Valkurm stuff and low-level Qufim might do.
You can also train a single Yuhtunga Mandragora to Kazham and fight it, zoning when you get too hurt to continue. This may rightly annoy other people, so do it when crowds are low or when you have a standing deal with a party near the gate to let them finish off the mand you wounded.
You should be able to reach the 60s-70s on your own. After that, I'd party and see how that goes. Bear in mind that low skill WILL hurt you at first, so tell your PT this beforehand. Generally though, at 70ish skill you'll hit often and hard enough to make it work out.
Consider a NIN sub for dual wield. I don't know if it gives you more chances to raise skill, but it does give you more swings, so I would assume so.
Look on the bright side: At least you're skilling up a one-handed weapon. I took GAxe from 0-93 over 24-30. Talk about a big mistake ignoring that one.Retired for good this time; been a fun ride everybody. -
