70+ Breaks still War's Bread and Butter?

on Rag whenever I do 70+ searches of War's most common sj I see now is Ninja... with a smaller # of Sam still... so I'm just curious with the nerf of Shield Break has the Role of High lvl War changed? or are they subing Ninja just for Blink rather than Duel wielding 2 axes? Plus haven't see anything about War Quest WS... might have just missed it if so plz someone post a link ...

/SAM adds to the WAR's fighting ability, not tanking /NIN can let the WAR have the Utsusemi for tanking.... as for G axe's break skills, they are still good to my concern, and every WAR with AF I saw on my server still use great axe....

As for WS quest. I am too low level to participate to care for the quests, so can't help you ^^

It's because most monsters people level with after lv70 resists shield break.

At 74 all jobs can use Ninjas Utsusemi: Ni which, for some bizare reason, hasn't been nerfed for sub meaning that Warrior can effectively play the role of a Ninja.

According to Russta's post, I think he means that WAR/NIN at 74 will be equally as effective as NIN if not more effective.... NIN as main gives you better bonus for dual wield, but WAR as main gives you a better selection of weapons.

Utsusemi is the ninja's blink, it 'creates' an image of you, and that image will take damage for you, in another word, you don't take any damage.
On my server, 99 Shihei(Shinobi-tool for Utsusemi) is 5k in AH...

So basically Warrior has moved back into the tanking role? Also btw so if 70+ mobs are highly break resistant do more 74-75 war's use Dual Axes? Or are they still primarily still using Gaxe?

WAR, or any other jobs, can't tank like NIN even when they r lvl 74. nin can tank because 1) they have blink ninjutsu, AND 2) they have high evasion boosted by equipments. without such a high evasion, blink wears off pretty quick, and not enough time to recast to make a tank. thus, WAR/NIN can't take place of NIN/WAR.

rather, lots of high lvl WAR's sub NIN coz 1) they use 1h axe most of the time for renkei (thus Dual Wield is ideal), and 2) to have blink as a way to evade attacks after renkei; usually DRK w/ Fuidama (onto WAR) Spinning Slash finishes renkei, and BLM finishes the mob w/ magics, and usualy, it's only a short period of time that WAR's don't have to worry about blink wearing off.

would not heavy armor and naturally better vit+hp's kinda offset taking more hits?

No armor would not off set it like Blink would.... as it's the difference of Zero Damage with Blink vs. Taking damage with armor ... So really there is no comparison...


PS still haven't seen anything about 71+ WS for Axe or Gaxe... anything to report?
