Where to get weapons?

Hey, Im a lvl 18 WAR/9 MNK that is currently saving up the dosh to get the full suit of Lizard Armour. I currently am using my hard earned Bee Spatha +1 which has served my well though many levels but now that I have my MNK to lvl 15 Im going to be taking the WAR all the way to lvl 30 and need something a little tougher. I have decided to get a Great Sword because I think they look sweet, and Im not l337 enough to sacrifice good looks for stats. So I head to the Windurst AH and was sad to find that there are practically no Great Swords for lvl 18, I think the next one up was about lvl 25. The same thing is fairly true for Great Axes and Syths wich were my second preference.

Then I thought of something else, where do all these weapons come from? I only ever buy stuff from AH but someone had to have put them up for sale originally. So is there somewhere in the world I can go hunting for my own weapons? And is there anywhere else a lvl 18 WAR can get a nice Great Sword?

make it to lvl 20 with what you have now get: mercenarys great sword (20 windurstian conquest point item) or neck chopper(rare Notorious monster drop) or cruel scythe or spear(rare notorious monster drop) unless you want to shell out 25k right now and buy a braveheart(level 18 greatsword)..... always goto jueno ah >every other AH.....

How do you obtain the sword? I found a WW by the Windurst gate who I could trade conquest points with (and there were no items I could see that cost 20) and I could not find the sword you refered too.

Things like mercenary, centurion, republician came from conquest point. Bronze sword, Brass Xiphos, Sapara, etc are shop items, or from quests. All the +1 items are from crafting, though sometimes the name changes, Fire sword-> Flame sword. Also the elemental weapons are usually from craft, though a few can be obtained from quests, ie poison cesti. Some weapon such as cougar banghnakhs, barbarian sword etc are from NM, treasure chest etc

Anyway, at lv 18, you should switch to fire sword or even flame sword, depending on how much you can pay I am lv 26, and still using a fire sword, due to its low delay I think it's still good ;;

oops didn't read the part about great sword, anyway, yea mercenary great sword should probably do, as for neckchopper, it's a bit hard to solo even for a 33 MNK, so I wouldn't go hunt it alone, but it's also a bit expensive in AH.... mind you, the mercenary great sword could possibly be a #1 item, meaning you need to wait til windrust is #1 in ranking to see it in menu

Omg in my server, Jueno is expensive. I think i will make a trip back to San d'Oria and do some farming...
