  • At what point does Shield Break become ineffective?

I'm familiar with the nerfing that occurred, but could any high lvl WARs shed some light on the lvl that Shield Break is no longer viable.

Currently at 24WAR/12THF it is halving the time it takes my group to kill an IT mob.

    There's no finite point...
it never really gets "ineffective", but the rate at which the evasion down effect is recovered is MUCH smaller at higher levels...
I've heard JP PTs talk about it, and I've gathered that at about level 40-45, the length of evasion down is anywhere from 5-15 seconds...which, when compared to the 30+ it used to be for all levels (based on PT mind you), isn't much at all...
At my WAR level (35), though PTs prefer the dmage of Sturmwind, a 200+% TP Shield Break will give about 20-25 seconds of evasion down...

Note: evasion down times are just obersational approximates and by no means definite...

It's sometimes called "Storm Wind" or "Storm Vent" on sites, because it was translated from Japanese to English as such. A lot of things were given wacky translations because, uh, I guess the English localization team thought faux-German sounded cooler.

It's a pretty radical attack though.
Retired for good this time; been a fun ride everybody.
