Help gettin into PT's

Im a level 20 WAR, and literally can NOT get into a PT. My current Equipment (from what I can remember) Is the whole Lizard Set with a Long sword, and a Shield (Can't remember the name of it), and a mantle. I can't afford to get all the accessories at the moment, buit as soon as I hit 20 and went to jueno for better lvling I've found even PT's with 20's-23's don't invite, or even accempt my invites. Am I doing something wrong? Honestly, Is being a Tank Warrior more than a melee War a BAD thing?

Don't be lazy and lvl up MNK to 10, then just go to Qufim and wait either near the worms or at the tower entrance. You'll get an invite, albeit with some patience. :sweat:

do /sea inv in qufim. Then do searches in upper, lower, and port jueno. Do that if you want to start a party.

Or do search quifim and ask party leaders if you can be in. Ask if they need a tank or an attacker.

My monk level is higher from what Is in my avatar X_X. It is leveled up, but I still get no luck with PT's. The only luck I have with PT's is the LS im in, not saying thats bad, but they aren't always around. And usually when their not on, I'm not in a PT. Been like that since 20. I'll try searching, and yes I've waited at the entrance, and at the flag, but waiting at the flag isn't a smart descision in Kujata anymore. As far as I remember beastmen control Qufim now, unless that's changed, I haven't been there in a few weeks because I've just been farming and trying out other classes. But thats besides the point. :sweat:

The tower is usually a good place to wait because if something nasty comes by you can zone inside and often PTs camping there will lose a puller or provoker and rather pick you up than be forced to disband completely and run back to Jeuno to restart.

After reading around the forums I found the most likely reason I am not getting into PT's. Probably the fact that I don't use a Great Axe. Hrm...I hate having to change my style of play for other players to be satisfied, but whatever, guess I'll go work up Great Axe to satisfy these damage mongers. Hopefully when I reach PAL it will be obviouse why I'm using sword and shield.

I've had people in my linkshell have the same problem. Groups in quifim are hit and miss in the 20-22 range but by the time you hit 22 or 23 it picks up again. What people in my linkshell do is spend that time gil farming easy cons in places like dangruf wadi. Eventually you make a level plus you make a lot of money for armor in the future. Going to Quifim as a 22war/11mnk with a full set of beetle armor, you are bound to stand out.

Oh, and you don't have to use sword and shield now. If you plan to level up Paladin, you'll have plenty of opportunity to get the skill ups you need.

I will say this, Great Axe is much more powerful at holding aggro and doing damage for a Warrior. Sword and shield will level up quite quickly on their own when you turn Paladin, no reason to do it now as a Warrior. Axes are your current strength, play on them.

The 20s can be a bit of a pain, between 1-30 there is a large population of Warriors, many who plan on going Ninja, Samurai, Dark Knight, Dragoon, or other advanced jobs later on. Post 30, tanks become a bit rarer, and post 50 even more so as people aren't leveling War subs anymore. So for now in your 20s, finding a group may be a bit of an annoyance, but wether you stay Warrior or continue on to Paladin, know that post 30 I rarely wait long for a group invite because there are many damage dealer classes, and fewer tank jobs around.

Oh ya, as was pointed out below - always have a Profile setup so PT leaders can know what you are skilled in and how far from level. This should help alot as well, I tend to use all translated text, don't know if that helps but I get my fair share of JP/HK groups.

Alright, thanks a bunch all for the info. Even the contructive critisism . The mention of taking this milestone to gil farm is very well one I will do immediatly. I've also scouted prices for what I plan on having and It will be an expensive road for me (much to my displeasure). Also I've taken this time to explore other classess I may use in the future, such as WHM so I can get sneak (to get the knights soul from what I've been told is a good assett to use or have.). Also the search info has been very helpful I knew about it (im an avid reader on these forums so I kinda caught the jist) but didn't really know people look into their searches that deep. I figured it was basically search -->Level/Area, and if their not in a PT invite. Haha. Oh well, like i said before, thanks.
