  • Getting Game Soon

Yeah, I believe my brother is getting me the game for christmas, actually, im pretty sure he is. Anyways, i was wondering what class I should start out as, ive always liked tanking, never really had the patience for spell casting and constant rest and being scolded for not casting spells at the right time :dead: So i was thinking about becoming a warrior, but i didnt want to have to wait all the way to lvl 30 or whatever it was to become a ninja so i could dual wield, so if anyone could give me some pointers on what class to start out as and where to fight I'd be very appreciative

Okay you want to tank, but you don't want any spells? Go Warrior with a Monk subjob. Then, when you get level 60 Warrior, sub 30 Samurai. Those seem to be the favorite subjob combinations for Warrior.

Do something like this: Create a Galka Warrior in Bastok. Level up to 12 soloing stuff in South and North Gustaberg. Then do 12-15 solo or with a partner in the Highlands. At 15 go to Valkrum Dunes and group. While in the Dunes get parts for your subjob quest. By 18 you should have your subjob quest parts and turn them in to Isacio in Selbina. If you don't have all the quest parts keep at it until you do (don't be one of these lamers that gets to level 27 without a subjob--please, that's pathetic).

Once you finish your subjob quest go back and level up monk. If you are persistant you'd get your monk to 30 at this point. Getting your monk to about 15 will serve for the time being if you are really anxious to get back to your warrior.

When you get back to your warrior that's around level 19 I'd suggest soloing again. Go to Dangruf Wadi and solo in the area with Wadi Hares. You need 4 gausebit grasses from these rabbits but you can make a few levels and a decent amount of cash here too. At 20 go to Jeuno and do your Chocobo quest.

You can try Quifim at 20 if you're feeling lucky. I leveled to 22 before heading there. Quifim dries out at about level 26 unless you want to stick it out and do leeches there. In that case you can make 30 in Quifim. Quifim can be irratating--there is a reason beastmen are in control of Quifim on my server.

Anyway, I've rambled on enough for now. That should give you a decent start.
