  • Pros and Cons of playing a Warrior

What are the pros and cons of playing a warrior?

My original intention was to create a small FAQ for the newcomers to sort out some of the more general questions they might have, but I gave that up after getting a lof of hate posts, but I hope what information that is posted here can be of help to people in the end.
Anyways, feel free to post what you think are the pros and cons of playing this job

    Negorath.

Humm, so trying to do something constructive while trying to do it in a ordered manner makes you a retard and moron? Ahh ok, I'll remember that for next time.
And how the hell does it affect bandwidth? Do you even know what bandwidth is?

I choosed to post it in each of the job specific forums because it would make it easier to sort out "pros and cons" for each job that way. I could have made just one in the "Race & Job Type Discussions" but it would just become a big mess.
In the end, the completed FAQ will be put up there, but for now I'd like to ask the question in their respective job forums, don't like it? Fine, take your sorry ass teenager butt elsewhere, I don't care, it's people like you who end up on people's ignore list.

Not only is everyone a warrior, but because he is a attacker and is one of the best sub jobs its too dam popular!!!! And another Con, At high levels, they fall like flies if they don't have a white mage/red mage handy...

In conclusion... I wish the servers were overpopulated with White mages or even red mages...

            PROs
            - Provoke is very good thing to have. The only job that has it. Every party needs at least one 'voker.
            - Wide range of weapons to use. Don't like something? Change your equipment. Because of this warriors can skillchain lots of things.
            - Well-balanced attack and defense, unlike specialised classes like pld or drk where attack and defense are tipped to either side.

            CONs
            - You, your mother, your dog and that irritating neighbour of yours is a warrior.
            - Hack, Slash, Rinse and Repeat. No mp, no magic, nada, nothing.
            - (personal opinion) omg.. the AF.. o.O;; I'd kill the designer if I could.

Well I guess there has to be a balance somewhere otherwise it would be single player Now who would want single player in this game?

well it's very true that there are a lot of warriors out there. The only difference is theres only a handfull of good ones, and an even smaller handful of Warriors ready to die for thier mages. It's kinda the job of the warrior/tank to take all the damage for the party so that the healers can focus on one person to heal. The reason why Warrior is a tank is because of the high level of armor they can equip and the high stats for defense (and the skill Defender). The only problem with taking all the damage is that you have to rely on everyone else to keep you alive. You'll die a lot doing it this way. I got so sick of it I'm finnally level 30 and doing the Dragoon Quest!

                    So Pros:
Almost any weapon, all heavy armor, can be focused on attacks (Streangth), can be focused on Defense (Vitalilty), Parties need you, you can solo for a while if needed and hold your own, Only cetain weapon skills can be used by Warrior and other melee classes, if you do really good and save people you'll make friends fast, you can save low level people who are running from easy monsters with provoke good deeds.

                    Cons:
You'll die, depending on how you play, a lot, not to much class specific stuff till higher higher levels, Provoke doesn't always work and people will die becase of the hate against them, magicly deprived, don't expect to use to much magic as a sub, depending on weapon attacks can be slow and race can miss a lot, magic hurts us more than physical attacks so look out for that.

Hope this helps, pm me if you have any questions or pointers, I'm more than happy to help.

Provoke doesn't fail, when it doesn't pull hate it just means the other person has more hate. Just clarifying that point so the younger players don't get confused and think it's a skill that randomly works, like shield bash or weapon bash for instance.
