Advanced class as your main?

ok, so this isnt a purely war question, but seeing as i will prolly be a war, i felt safest in the comfort of this topic thread :spin:

just wanted to ask, because its been puzzling me to some degree, how can someone have a class like paladin as their main(not to insult paladins in any way) its the technical factor of how you get jobs(arent the only starting jobs available War Mnk Thf Red Wht Blk?)

as you can see, ive got a long way to go before i play the game(about 36 days to be percise) just wanted to get everything straightened out before i start playing, in all honesty, if i worked this much on school work id be out of school by now :p

This question has probably been explained in at least 100 other topics, but here it is anyway.

You can switch to whatever main job you want to at any time, as long as that job is available. In the beginning you only have the 6 basic jobs available, but once you reach lvl 30 with one of those jobs you can undertake quests to unlock the advanced jobs. Once an advanced job is unlocked, you can go to your mog house whenever you wish and make that job your main.
