Warrior ¿?

A couple questions about a warrior. Are they known for ever using shields, or stay with 2H weapons usually? Also, when I start out the game as a warrior, will the body size I pick for my char affect the speed that he can run in the game? ( I guess this applies to any job or race ) I apologize in advance if anything has been answered...or if they're just dumb questions.

yeah...appearance doesn't change any of your abilities, a taru can run as fast as any other race for example under no status affects.

Warriors with shields...It happens, I used em, got my skill to 23 and chucked it out the window for my two hander. I went back to one handers at 35 tho, but I'm using two cuz of ninja sub so I dun use a shield...and matter of fact....I never seen a warrior with a shield other than maybe me and two other people when we were low levels and didn't know anything lol

i always carry a 1h sword with a shield and a 2h sword with me. when one of your weapons maxes,i would switch over to the other,or when its needed in renkei. that would probably be the best idea. then again...im only level 15...

Although most warriors I've seen use 2-handers, carrying around a 1-hand weapon and shield isn't a bad idea. If a paladin isn't available, the shield would make you more viable as a tank because of the added defense. Of course some warriors don't like tanking anyway, so whether or not you decide to keep a shield handy is really a matter of personal preference.

WEAPONS
Axes: A
The choice weapon for warriors, although very few use them at lower levels because they think that the starting weapon type (sword) is what they should use. Also, axes suck ass at lower levels, mind my language lol.

Swords: B
Swords are more popular, but they're made for paladins. Warriors are for doing as much damage as possible at once, not doing small damage at a fast rate.

Ok, i've been using an axe since sunday when i got my WAR AF1 (level 40 1h axe). they're fun...but they don't have the punch power of the two hand axes which more high level warriors ( if not all) use. I switched to two hand axes last nigh, been skilling it up, and its a lot more warrior like and you get more useful WS like armor break etc.

It doesn't really matter what you use, but stay with swords and axes, preferably one hand swords and two hand axes. However, high levels , 50+, will be better off usng a two hand axe.

no its cooler when you do 500+ do an IT at level 40 with a great axe and the drk does 150 with scythe =P

Umm...? Since when do axes suck low-levels? I know at least Axes > Swords, no matter the level. Raging Axe > Fast Blade. Axe gets stun WS at 14, Sword gets it at 26 as a WAR. Also have higher damage overall. Warriors CAN use shields but Warriors rely on damage to hold hate, so a two-handed axe is your best choice unless you're simply taking too much punishment (at which point I'd just use defensive food anyways; great axe is too powerful to give up.) For the love of God, don't use swords as a Warrior unless you're gonna dual-weild it with an axe. The damage is crap compared to axes and great axes, only one-handed weapons that suck more are daggers and clubs, but I've yet to see a WAR stupid enough to use those.

Best weapons for WAR:
1) Great Axe, by far. Spectacular damage, and powerful debuff (see: Shield/Armor Break) WSs.
2) Great Sword (for skillchain purposes)
3) Axe-Axe/Axe-Sword combo (for skillchain purposes, although they might outdamage GA with a Dual Weild II and/or a Sarashi)
4) Bows. They're very powerful, even more so than great axes. With some +ranged accuracy gear you won't regret it, but they ARE costly. Not to be used as a main weapon, but can provide a good ammount of hate when in a pinch. Also see: Sleep Arrows.
5) Marksmanship (Crossbows). Very useful for their status bolts (Sleep/Bloody/Venom/Acid/Blind/Holy Bolts) I'd recommend every WAR to get these.

These apply more to low levels (below 50) more than anything else, situations change as more abilities and traits become available. For example, by 50+ you probably wouldn't find a single WAR using a Great Sword in an exp party.

Conclusion: Warriors are meant to do damage when tanking. They NEED to. Use the proper weapons, and eat your Meat Mithkabobs.

jesus christ...i get an email saying some one replied to my message about how swords are cooler more then a year later? holy shit your late on this one. i still say swords are cooler but yea,i would dual wield two axes over anything,especially if they are axes giving +attack and the like

I personally like G-axe better ... I leveled G-sword to 54 for my 11DRK and thats basically all the weapons ive used as a Warrior
