Thief/Ninja vs Samurai/Thief

I am trying to learn as much as I can before the NA release.
I have narrowed it down to a Mithra Thief but I don't know what would be best. A thief/Ninja? or a Samurai/Thief. I know the benefits of a Thief/Ninja but I have also heard that Ninjas are not as strong as the Samurai's. What do you guys think.
Also I am kinda lost on the lingo.
What is WS?
PT? party something I think
Also if anyone else knows any other abbreviations they want to clue me in on that would be great. Thx guys.

All I can tell you is that WS is weapon skill, and PT is party... lol..

there's really nothing to compare between those two arrangements of jobs. i'll try and give you a run down to the best of my ability^^

THF/NIN
has obvious advantages. the top probably being that the thf now can deal twice the damage (of regular hits) as before. plus thf also gets all the kinks of ninja-ness, i.e. ninjutsu.

SAM/THF
hmm, i wouldn't really recommend this one. to be completly honest, sam/war is the best combination for a samurai main. however THF/SAM on the other hand is a different story.... and sadly, one that i can probably guaruntee has never been told yet.

why hasn't thf/sam been done?

im asking mainly because im going with a THF as main.. so right now im still in limbo as to what my subjob will be

normally as THF we can't shoot our WS right away after our TP got up to 100%... we need to wait for our sneak+decieve attack ability to be available. so charging TP a little faster with samurai doesn't give that whole lot of advantage i think....
