  • Elvaan Theif/monk. . . Good idea???

Okay I'm done. . . i can't seem to make up my mind!! At first i wanted to be a elvaan ranger, that was it i was set i knew what i wanted and that was final. . . but now after reading countless amounts of post about how bad a elvaan ranger would be I'm giving up on the idea. SO now i've got it down and this time i'm sticking to it I'm gonna be a theif/monk but i really want to know if this is a good idea at least for a elvaan,(i've heard that elvaans are to slow to make good thiefs and something about them being bad monks)
    Your opinion is greatly apreciated!
    Thanx in advance

    it's a good idea

btw, attack speed is purely effected by the weapon and maybe some job passive abilities, but nothing else. It has absolutely nothing to do with race. Even though they might be lacking some agi and dex, it turns out OK because the backstab attack is 100% hit. Also, in PTs, the thf doesn't take the hits, so the small lack of agi doesn't hurt you too much. The elvaan's high str will make you do insanely high amounts of damage during renkeis.

        Level 15

And at level 30 thf learns sneak attack, which can be stacked with backstab to deal even more damage if he's standing directly between another player and the monster's butthole. This then transfers all of the monster hate to the player in front of the thf. the combo is called fuidama, cuz it combines backstab [fui uchi] and sneak attack [dama uchi]. becomes a tactic for the tanks to stand opposite each other and have the thf fuidama switch around between them.

Also, you might as well train WAR for sub too.
For leveling PT from lv1-30, subbing either WAR or MNK is good. but WAR can help a little with taunt. after lv30, you will be fighting bones, skeletons which is weak to burst renkei so MNK will be the best choice until you are lv45. From then on, it depends on which area your PT going to level, if it's skeletons area, MNK would be best, and if orc, bug, fly area, WAR would be good. Also train both Dagger and Grapple, 1h sword is also necessary.

THF job is hard work...you will be running a lot from side to side, switch between each tanks. but if it's a pro PT, when renkei time, THF just stand behind a PLD waiting to release Combo/Rangeki (Grapple WS) or ViperBite/DancingEdge(Dagger WS).

Take this from me....I've been there....Lv61 THF and still rising

First of all, Kiyaki i love your style, personality, and everything else...you ROCK and i hope i end up on the same server as you.

As for my 2 gil on the topic, i'm planning to find a massive damage combo in Dark Knight/THF. If i'm right then i should have all the massive dmg power of a DK, and still be able to use the main thf skills of backstab and sneak atk as a sub...i just hope the tanks can out-taunt my dmg
